Chapter 8: My Equipment Is Superior to Yours

The citizens of Vale are all in awe as they see the newly established Navy sailors that are marching on the streets. While the officers are discussing with Ozpin and his group, the citizens are cheering for the new military force with the students from the four huntsman academies looking at the army with focus and confusion. The students from Vacuo and Mistral are seeing this force with awe as they never expected that Vale, a kingdom that hasn't had a military force since the Great War when they were discontinue as they entered an era of "peace". Those from Atlas are having mixed feelings about this upcoming Naval force. Some students, who came from Atlas elitists, are quietly mocking the marching sailors as they believed that the Atlas Military is far superior than Vales, while others are curious about how the Navy acquired these new vehicles instead of robots like their Atlas Knights and Paladins. Beacon students on the other hand...

Student 1: "How the hell did someone like Arc became a leader?" Said one of the arrogant students that have it out for Jaune, or rather Doflamingo.

Student 2: "Ha, since he's a leader then this Navy is doomed to fail." Said the other with a smirk as others agree.

As the M939 Trucks and HMMWV's are being driven behind the sailors, the old friends and classmates of Doflamingo are gawking at the big vehicles passing by. Like the other students, they can't comprehend how Doflamingo can create such vehicles.

Ruby: "WOW! Look at the size of that truck!" The young reaper yells with stars in her eyes.

Weiss: "Please. Big trucks doesn't compare to Atlas technology." Said the heiress with pride for her home kingdom. 

Ruby: "OHHHTHATONEHASATURRETONIT!!!" She yells at a fast-paced as a Oshkosh M-ATV passed by.

Yang: "Damn, that's awesome." Said her older sister.

Blake: "Hm, seems very effective when battle large numbers of Grimm." Said the cat Faunus as she looks up from her book.

Weiss can only look at the large vehicle with shocked eyes and a bit of jealousy since Atlas doesn't have military vehicles like that.

Weiss: "W-Well, they can't compete with Atlesian aircraft." She said with smirk.

As soon as they said that, the crowd heard a loud noise that's coming from the sky. The people sees 5 aircrafts that came from the Aircraft carrier near the new constructed Navy base. It was five Lockheed Martin F-35 Lighting II.

The advanced fighter jets are in a V-formation as it soars through the sky as their sailors below continue marching. The crowd cheers with excitement as they never seen an aircraft like that. It looks more advanced than Atlesian bullheads. 

Blake: "You were saying, Weiss." Said Blake as she covers her cat ears from the loud sonic boom the jets created. 

Weiss can only twitch her eye at the remark since this is the first time she ever seen an aircraft as agile and unique as that. It looks incredibly faster than the standard military bullheads. The heiress can only be silent as she has nothing say to improve her Kingdom's military image. 

Back at the Stands

As the Navy officers are talking with Ozpin and his group, they all stopped talking they also heard that loud bang that came from the sky. Everyone looked up to see the F-35s flying in a V-formation.

Goodwitch: "My goodness! What are those?" She questioned.

Winter: "They don't seem like bullheads." Said the specialist. 

Lieutenant 1: "That's because the Navy doesn't use bullheads. We don't even allow them on our Aircraft Carriers. What you are looking at, is the future of militaristic aircraft. That is the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lighting II."

Qrow: "Why II?"

Lieutenant 2: "Because the first one was a prototype so the Navy's Engineer Corp had to work out the kinks on what the it had. Thus we had the Lockheed II." Said the lieutenant.

Ironwood: "Specialist Schnee." 

Winter: "Yes General." The eldest Schnee daughter nodded as she takes out her scroll and began to record the fighter jets.

Captain: "Don't bother, Specialist." The old Faunus captain said, which got their attention.

Ironwood: "Why do you say that, Captain?"

Captain: "Even if Atlas as the time, resources... and patience, to even construct fighter jets, it wouldn't do any good. Especially, if you use Dust as fuel." He explained.

Winter: "What?! It doesn't use any dust!" Yells the Specialist in shock as Ozpin group having the same reaction as her.

Lieutenant 1: "Correct, Specialist." 

Qrow: "Then what the hell do you use, if it's not dust." Said the huntsman as he drinks from his flask. 

Lieutenant 2: "Our boys in the Office of Naval Research were tasked in finding other sources of fuel so that we won't have to be dependent on it like Atlas. Especially, when dust was being stolen by the White Fang when they were around at the time." He explained.

Qrow: "So what did the brainiacs found?" He asked with curiosity.

Ozpin: "Agree, since for centuries the kingdoms have been trying to find alternative fuel and resources since Dust has been on the decline for years." Said the headmaster of Beacon.

Lieutenant 1: "To not give away classified information, we extracted from a black liquid that we found from certain lands outside of the Kingdoms. We call it Navy Special Fuel Oil, or rather, NSFO."

Ozpin: "Oil? Interesting." He said as he sips from his coffee mug.

Ironwood: "How did you get the funding for that?" He asked the officers.

The 2 lieutenant and Captain pointed at Doflamingo, who had a mischievous smirk on his face. He can't help it that rich assholes love to buy product from his clothing empire, which he recycles that money to help fund his Naval Force. The interesting thing, is that the budget isn't get down anytime soon.

Ironwood: "That's not possible. One man can't just fund a large military organization." He said with disbelief. 

Doflamingo: "Fufufufu, It's very true General. You be amazed how much money Numancia Flamingo makes. It help fund my new toys to keep Vale safe after all." He said with a bone-chilling smile.

Let it be known that Valean Navy as more funds than the Atlas Military. One man can fund his military force than a group of rich assholes to their kingdom's military. It just shows that Doflamingo as the mind of leader. Or rather a king.
