Although Karim's acceptance into the program filled them with hope, new challenges quickly surfaced. The exchange program required significant financial support, and Karim's family wasn't in a position to cover all the costs.
During one of their video calls, Karim admitted his concerns. "I don't know how I'm going to afford the plane ticket, let alone living expenses. I'm worried this might not work out, Amara."
Amara's heart ached at his words. She hated seeing him so defeated. "We'll find a way," she said firmly. "This is our dream, Karim. We can't let it slip away."
Karim spent the next few days exploring every possible option—scholarships, part-time work, even crowdfunding. Amara, determined to help, offered her own savings, but Karim refused to take it. "You've already given me so much," he told her. "I can't let you do that."
Despite the mounting stress, they leaned on each other for strength. Amara sent him daily messages of encouragement, reminding him why they were fighting so hard.
Finally, after weeks of uncertainty, Karim secured additional funding through a combination of a small scholarship and contributions from his extended family. When he told Amara the good news, her relief was palpable.
"You did it, Karim," she said, her eyes shining with pride.
"No," he corrected, smiling. "We did it."
Their love had once again proven its resilience. With the financial hurdles cleared, the countdown to their reunion could finally begin.
