Miranda stopped in her tracks and pulled Millicent to came to a standstill, there was a loud explosion in their opposite direction. Screams and automatic gunshots reached their ears.
"Mom," Millicent pleaded with her eyes. "Do you think you can make it back to the hotel safely?" She asked figidting with her fingers.
"You want to go and join them, do you?" Miranda chirped, a smile crept onto her lips. Millicent has always been reserved and closed off, never dared to take risks. "You should go, the people here need you, and I know you can handle yourself. Don't you worry about me." Her mother said.
"Are you sure? We could easily get on a flight back to New York and forget any of this ever happend," Millicent asked, she shrugged her shoulders and clutched her hands together. Miranda scoffed with amusement as Millicent beamed with angst.
"Look at you, your almost crawling out of your skin to join them," Miranda observed, she gently placed her hand against her daughter's flushed cheek. "Show the world who you are."
With one last look, Millicent ran down the street in the same direction the two woman disappeared to. She hurried skipping past the poeple running for their lives to escape the chaos.
As Millicent ran, he legs stretching long and her breath hitching, she closed her eyes as she came to a standstill, in the middle of the street as people all around her pushed and tugged through the streets for safety.
Flashes of a building explosion surged through her mind. Millicent opened her eyes as it sparked a purple ember. She stretched out her hands to her sides as her fingertips fizzled with a purple energy. Millicent pushed herself from the ground and flew into the open sky. Ahead, at the Institute for Infectious Diseases, she saw a green poisonous smoke misting up into the air. A soft scarlet red energy intertwined with the poisonous gas.
Millicent pushed forward flying ahead and saw the fighting happening on the ground, but her focus was the gas. She stretched out her hands as a purple wave pulsed from her fingertips, she shot a beam of energy into the gas. She flicked her wrist as the purple energy encircles the gas, dissipating the poisonous gas and leaving behind a cloud of white smoke that dissappeared into the air.
"Who are you?" A familiar but chilling voice spoke from behind Millicent. She turned quickly to see who it was. Her brows furrowed as she saw the woman twirling her fingers with a dark scarlet energy circling her fingertips.
"I know you," Millicent muttered, now finally seeing the auburn haired woman's face. "You're Wanda Maximoff. You are with the Avengers."
"Good", Wanda muttered. "Then no introductions is needed from my side," She targeted Millicent, but the girl let her defenses down. The purple faded from her eyes, as the purple energy dissolved from her fingertips. "Do you work for Rumlow?" Wanda questioned, her guard still rock solid compared to Millicent.
