Avengers Headquarters, one month later, 2016

News Reporter:
Eleven Wakandans were among those killed during a confrontation between the Avengers and a group of mercenaries in Lagos, Nigeria, last month. The traditionally reclusive Wakandans were on an outreach mission in Lagos when the attack occurred.

King T'Chaka of Wakanda:
Our people's blood is spilled on foreign soil. Not only because of the actions of criminals, but by the indifference of those pledged to stop them. Victory at the expense of the innocent, is no victory at all.

News Reporter:
The Wakanda King went on to...

Steve picked up the remote and switched the holographic monitor off. He turned his head sideways, listening in as the same news he was watching is playing in another room.

Millicent sat cross legged next to Wanda on her bed as they quietly listen to the news.

News Reporter:
They are operating outside and above the international law. Because that's the reality, if we don't respond to acts like these. What legal authority does enhanced individuals like Wanda Maximoff and underage Millicent Morgan have to operate in Nige...

The television switched off as Wanda and Millicent's names was mentioned. Millicent tilts her head to see Steve standing in the doorway.

"It's my fault." Wanda mumbled.

"It's not true." Steve said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Then turn the TV back on, they're being very specific." Wanda muttered.

"No, it's all my fault," Millicent interjected. "I should never have casted that energy field," she said lowering her head and refused to meet Steve's gaze. "Wanda, you were only helping where I failed, I should've been stronger but-"

"No, it's neither one of y'all faults, it's mine, I should've clocked that bomb vest long before you two had to deal with it. Rumlow said 'Bucky' and... All of a sudden, I was a sixteen year old kid again in Brooklyn," Steve said, he went to sit down next to Millicent and Wanda, his lowered his head as guilt wash over him. "And people died. It's on me-"

"It's on all of us." Wanda said.

"This job... We try to save as many people as we can. Sometimes that doesn't mean everybody, but if we can't find a way to live with that, then next time... maybe nobody gets saved."

Millicent and Wanda gasp as Vision phased through the bedroom wall.

"I forgot he could do that." Millicent whispered to herself.

"Well, as I've studied your energy signature these few weeks, you could phase through matter just like me, if you wanted or desired to," Vision said as Millicent eyes were wide open, Steve and Wanda were speechless. "Quite remarkable is it not."
