Will has been very lovey dovey recently.
Not that Nico was complaining, he wasn't used to the attention but it wasn't bad. It's just Will got very excited about doing things that Nico never thought he'd do.
Fucking braiding.
So here Nico was, scrolling on Will's phone(his was dead,) while Will tried to braid his hair. He winced when the boy pulled a little too hard but didn't complain. Will was having his moment.
"You're going to look so pretty," Kayla laughed, walking in with a baggie. Nico glared at her, blushing slightly.
"We need to send a picture to Hazel later." Will smiled, taking the bag from his sister, "She'll love it."
"I'd rather die." Nico muttered, not looking away from his phone.
"Your hair really is growing out," Will muttered, running his hands through the unbraided bits, "Do you want to get a haircut soon? Or do you like it long?"
Nico shrugged, "I don't really care either way."
Will rubbed his shoulder slightly, "I like it long. Actually, if it gets longer I might be able to put it in a ponytail for you. These braids are pretty short."
"Whatever." Nico was silently debating whether he'd cut it or not. He didn't hate it, and Will seemed to enjoy messing with it. But he didn't want to be the boy with a man bun.
"Yay," Will beamed, Nico couldn't bring himself to argue, Will looked so proud of himself once he'd gotten three braids done.
"You'd be a good girl dad," Kayla smiled at Will, helping him tie rubber bands into Nico's hair, "And I'd be the best aunt. Remember, just because you're gay doesn't give you an excuse not to give me a niece and or nephew."
Will chuckled, Nico had to force himself not to freeze.
He'd probably be a shitty dad. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree right? And he had too many issues already, Will didn't deserve to have to juggle his problems and a kid.
"Nico?" Will shook his shoulder hesitantly, Nico snapped out of his mental debate and looked up at his boyfriend. "Kayla wants to ask you a question."
Nico turned to her, dreading the question when he saw how she was grinning.
"You guys are gonna give me a niece right?" She smiled, ignoring how Will shoved her, "I'd be the best aunt. Your baby would love me. And I'd babysit for free."
Will glared at her, pointing at the door. She sighed, shoving Will slightly and walking towards the door. But before she left she turned back to Nico.
"Think about it."
She closed the door quickly before the pillow Will threw could hit her.
Nico stared at the door, thinking for a few minutes until Will requested he come up onto the bed.
"Nico?" Will was looking at her a little concerned, "Don't think too deep into what she said. Okay?"
Nico nodded, snuggling into Will and burying his face into the boy's neck. He didn't remember if he'd told him before, but he was really warm. Nico felt at home just snuggled up next to his boyfriend.
But his peace didn't last very long. After a few minutes he started thinking about what Kayla had said.
Did Will want kids? Obviously they'd adopt, or maybe find a surrogate. But Nico didn't know if he wanted to bring someone else into his messed up family. He was already hesitant about letting Will into his problems, he didn't want to drag a child in too.
But if Will wanted them...
Nico couldn't drag down Will anymore, right? And maybe a kid would be good for them. Wait, he was 15. Why was he even thinking about this?
He'd let himself think more about it if Will hadn't broken up with him when they turned 18. Though that wasn't very likely. He was too fucked up for a relationship to last long term.
"Nico?" Will squeezed him slightly, drawing his attention, "I've been wondering something."
"What Will?" Nico couldn't help but snuggle closer to him, he liked the way Will's chest rose and fell as he breathed.
"Would you even want to marry me?"
Nico felt guilty for freezing. But he didn't want to trap Will like that. He didn't deserve that. He immediately banished any thoughts of a kid out of his mind, nobody deserves to be stuck with Nico. He-
"Please don't freak out." Will seemed a little panicked, gently turning Nico to look him in the eyes, "You don't have to make a decision, or even think about it right now. I know we've only been dating for a few months, but I really, really love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, but only if you want to be with me. I just wanted you to know that."
Nico didn't know what to say, he couldn't help but stare into the sky blue eyes of the beautiful boy in front of him.
He almost instinctively leaned in and kissed him. Will seemed to understand and kissed him back, holding the back of his head loosely and messing with the braids. He turned his head slightly to deepen the kiss, gently pushing his tongue into Nico's mouth and exploring. Nico was content to just stay like that forever, but after either eternity or a few seconds, his stupid lungs decided they had to stop.
"I'll think about it Will." Nico mumbled, cuddling closer to the boy and burying his face in his chest.
"Thank you Nico." Will whispered into his hair, "I love you."
"I love you more."
"Not possible."
"So possible."
"Agree to agree that I'm right."
"Decline."
"Whatever." Will laughed, wrapping his arms around Nico.
They fell asleep like that, Nico wrapping in the arms of the love of his life.
He wouldn't change a thing.
