Freen's POV

Work had been overwhelming, and my irritability had reached new heights. Everyone tiptoed around me, except Nam, my loyal friend.

"What do you need now?" I snapped as Nam entered my office without knocking. "I've told you to knock."

Nam shrugged, unfazed. "Why are you like this? Everyone's afraid to talk to you."

"I'm just trying to be patient with you since you're my friend," I retorted.

Nam laughed. "So she still holds the role of best friend in your heart."

My eyes narrowed. "What are you talking about, Nam?"

"You know who," Nam teased, smirking.

I knew exactly who she meant, but I wouldn't acknowledge it. Our last disagreement still lingered.

"You still miss her, right?" Nam asked gently.

I evaded the question. "Don't go there, Nam."

Nam's concern softened her expression. "You're still hurting, aren't you?"

"I'm fine," I lied.

Nam raised an eyebrow. "Freen, come on."

"Drop it, Nam," I warned.

My mind drifted to memories of a cherished friendship, but anger simmered beneath the surface. Why did this person still hold such power over me?

"Is she worthy of your worry?" I muttered to myself.

Nam's voice broke the silence. "Hey, Freen?"

"Yeah?"

"Take care of yourself, okay?"

"I will," I said, grateful for Nam's unwavering support.
