Yn stared at her phone, her thumb hovering over Taehyung's contact name. She bit her lip, debating whether to call. It had been a few days since she had fully recovered, and now, with an invitation to her friend's party in hand, she felt a mix of excitement and nerves. Would Taehyung even want to come? He had been her rock during her recovery, and despite their growing closeness, she still found herself second-guessing his feelings. Shaking off her hesitation, she tapped the call button.
The phone barely rang twice before his voice came through, deep and calm. "Yn?"
"Hey," she said, trying to sound casual. "Are you free tonight?"
There was a pause. "Depends. What's going on?"
She hesitated, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. "There's a party tonight. A friend of mine is hosting it, and I thought... maybe you'd want to come with me. Minji's coming too."
Another pause. She could almost picture him leaning back in his chair, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "Sure. Send me the details."
Her lips curved into a grin. "Great. Oh, and Taehyung?"
"Yeah?"
"Dress sharp." She hung up before he could respond, a satisfied smile spreading across her face.
By the time evening rolled around, Yn was ready. She slipped into a sleek black satin dress that hugged her curves perfectly, the fabric shimmering under the dim light of her room. A slit on the side added just the right amount of allure, and she paired it with silver heels and delicate jewelry. Looking at her reflection, she felt a surge of confidence. Tonight was going to be memorable.
Minji arrived first, looking stunning in an emerald green dress that accentuated her fiery personality. "Girl, you look like a goddess," she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up as she took in Yn's appearance.
"And you look like trouble," Yn teased, laughing as she adjusted the strap of her dress.
They didn't have to wait long before Taehyung arrived. When Yn opened the door, her breath hitched. He stood there in a perfectly tailored dark gray suit, the unbuttoned dress shirt underneath adding an effortlessly sexy edge to his look. His hair was styled in a way that was both casual and intentional, and his cologne was subtle but intoxicating.
"You clean up well," Yn said, her tone light but her heartbeat anything but steady.
"Only because you asked," he replied smoothly, his eyes lingering on her for a moment that felt like an eternity.
The car ride to the party was filled with lighthearted banter. Minji kept the conversation flowing, her energy infectious as she recounted a recent work fiasco. Taehyung chimed in occasionally, his comments sharp and teasing, drawing laughter from both women. Yn couldn't help but steal glances at him, her thoughts drifting to how comfortable and yet utterly unsettling his presence made her feel.
The party was already in full swing by the time they arrived. The music was loud, the room buzzing with laughter and conversation. Familiar faces greeted Yn as she stepped inside, memories of shared moments flashing through her mind. It felt good to reconnect, to feel like herself again after everything she'd been through.
Things were going well until she heard a voice she hadn't expected. "Yn? Is that you?"
She turned, her smile faltering when her eyes met Jung Hoseok's. Her ex.
"Hoseok," she said, her tone carefully neutral. "What are you doing here?"
"Just flew in from New York," he said with a unpleasent tone."I couldn't stay away forever."
