My mother, a beautiful woman who was once thought to never be married because of her un favor for all men that came her way. Until my father came.
A man who looked at the stars when the stars were visible, from the pollution clouds. She found him staring at the stars on a very cold night. She fell in love with his rare eyes, a rare mix of green and blue, that always seem to sparkle with wonder. Eyes like this were never seen in the south, even in the north. For they came from the stars themselves.
They both fell in love, got married, and when my mother was happily pregnant with me, watched her love be killed, for owning something not aloud in our district, for everything comes with a small rent. A telescope he was saving for me.
He was hung, and forgotten by everyone except by My mother.
Once she laid her eyes upon me, she fell in love the same way that she fell in love with my father. My eyes identically the same as my father. She named me Luma. The bursar celestial name my father wanted. Luma, meaning galaxy. It's said by the elders that my name is destined for greatness.
But, living in the poor, horrible, district of coal, it's impossible for my great future I'm destined to have. So I guess the old bastards are wrong.
