Frostblaze walked across WindClan territory with a heavy heart. For some reason, she felt... awful.

Am I that selfish, not considering the feelings of others?

She sighed, continuing to walk on the moor's exposed land. The grass swayed gently as a light, night breeze blew in the opposite direction.

As Frostblaze padded closer to a patch of heather, she caught a fairly familiar scent, but it was not of any Clan.

She dropped in a stalking position and carefully made her way towards the patch of heather.

Frostblaze froze, realising that she had lost the scent. Where is that cat?

Suddenly, she heard something running towards her from behind. She twisted and barely dodged from a well aimed blow from a white cat.

"Feather?" Frostblaze mewed in confusion, flattening her fur.

"I wasn't going to hit you," Feather purred. "But you just twisted as though I was an enemy warrior!"

"Why are you going here?" Frostblaze asked. "WindClan wouldn't be happy if you trespassed."

"Actually, I'm their guest," she mewed, licking her fur in embarrassment. "Although most of them didn't seem pleased."

"How did you manage to convince Dawnstar?" Frostblaze questioned.

"Actually, Driftwind was the one who convinced Dawnstar," Feather replied. "But I am not a member of the Clan until most of the Clan agrees. I have been practising with the Clan's apprentices since then."

"Well, good luck trying to convince her," Frostblaze meowed. "I have to go now."

"See you soon!" Feather called as the light gray and white she-cat resumed her journey to the Moonstone.

~~~~
Mothermouth stood in front of Frostblaze. She stared warily at the darkness that lay in front of her.
It's almost moonhigh.
Frostblaze padded into the tunnel, her paws touching the slight wet ground. As she walked deeper into the tunnel, the ground became colder, as sunlight do not touch the soil.
Finally, Frostblaze arrived at a cavern. The Moonstone waited in front of her, its brilliant light not yet shown to her.
After a few heartbeats, the Moonstone brightened up, shining with the power of StarClan.
It's time.
Frostblaze padded determinedly towards the shining stone and rested her muzzle on its cold, hard surface.
It wasn't long until the young warrior fell asleep.
When she woke up, she found herself near a shining pool. This looks familiar... she thought.
"Welcome, Frostblaze," a golden she-cat padded towards her. "We have been expecting you."
"Really?" Frostblaze asked, looking around. "Where are the others?"
"They are here, but you can't see them yet," Sunstar replied. "You seem to be very troubled."
"I am," she sighed.
"About what? The battle?" Sunstar asked.
"Yes," Frostblaze mewed with a slight growl. "How can I, a young inexperienced warrior, defeat a cat that seems to be unbeatable?"
Sunstar began to look uncomfortable. "Frostblaze," she mewed quietly. "There's something important that I need to tell you."
"What is it?" Frostblaze asked.
"While you were away from the Clans - in DragonClan, you received a vision, am I correct?" the golden she-cat mewed seriously.
"Yes," Frostblaze suddenly began to feel nervous.
Sunstar looked at her with her amber eyes before speaking, "What you have seen may not be what it is."
The light gray and white she-cat felt like she was knocked over by a cat. "What?" she gasped.
Is she saying that...
"Yes," Sunstar confirmed, as if she could read her thoughts. "You are not the chosen cat. There has never been one ever since things started going wrong. First it was Nightstar, then Brownstar, Froststar, Silverstar, Fernstorm, Hailstar and even your mother, Bluewish. The pool we look into to see the future has become too cloudy for any of us to see what is in store for the Clans."
"So... you all have been lying to me?" Frostblaze stammered.
"We never lied!" a light gray tom brust out of the bushes nearby, his lip curled into a snarl. "It's just what you choose to believe. You assumed and caused yourself to suffer indirectly!"
"Rockpelt, don't be so harsh on her," Sunstar mewed.
"He's right," Frostblaze mewed bitterly. "I just thought it was me... I was wrong."
"It wasn't your fault," Sunstar mewed gently.
Rockpelt didn't speak, only narrowing his eyes before walking off.
Frostblaze remained silent, unsure of what to say.
"Seasons ago," Sunstar began abruptly. "I was just a very young kit - barely a moon old. Before the oldest elder in the Clan died, he told me that he remembered the Clan wasn't always in the forest. He remembered that another elder told him that they had to flee to the forest - because of what, he wasn't sure."
"They had to flee because of me," a new voice interrupted.
"Thornshadow?" Frostblaze mewed. "I... thought that you weren't allowed in StarClan."
"I came to visit some cats," he replied, casting a hesitant look at Sunstar.
"As I was saying," Thornshadow continued. "It was because of me. You have already heard what I tried to do to DragonClan... I tried to do it to the four Clans as well. ThunderClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan, WindClan came from the lake to the forest to avoid anymore of them being killed - they had been greatly weakened from the previous leaf-bare. They travelled for moons until they reached the forest, where they stayed ever since."
"What Thornshadow means is that the Clans can't afford to run again," Sunstar mewed. "We are warriors, and you, the newest set of warriors shall protect the forest from any cat that tries to do so. That is the way of the warrior."
