(Lilyflower's POV)

Lilyflower sped off away from the chaotic RiverClan camp and towards WindClan. She hoped WindClan was far better off than ThunderClan and RiverClan, for both Clans may be the first to fall.

She shook away the terrifying thoughts and continued running. Finally, Lilyflower reached the edge of WindClan territory. It was deadly silent.

Has WindClan... died out already?

Hesitantly, she headed to the middle of WindClan territory, hoping to find the camp.

It wasn't long before Lilyflower spotted the camp. It was destroyed, branches and herbs scattered around. The rank scent of Dark Forest rogues lingered there, but strangely, there was no sign of blood.

A twig snapped behind her, causing her to jump. She unsheathed her claws, praying to StarClan that it wasn't a Dark Forest cat.

A cat, covered with half dried mud, padded up to her. "Who are you?" Lilyflower demanded.

"My name is Ferrettail," the cat spoke nervously. His amber eyes glanced suspiciously at her.

"Are you... from ThunderClan?" Ferrettail questioned.

"Yes, my name is Lilyflower," she was hesitant to trust him. He could be a spy for all she know. "I need to see Dawnstar."

To Lilyflower's surprise, Ferrettail didn't even object. "Follow me," he mewed, his voice almost a whisper.

Cautiously, she followed him. He moved quickly, just like a WindClan cat.

Lilyflower ran to catch up to Ferrettail. He occasionally looked around, as if he expected cats to leap onto him at any moment. There's definitely something wrong here, she decided.

They reached the end of WindClan territory, where there are some tall grass and trees growing. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a hole, carefully hidden by dead leaves and grass.

Ferrettail padded in, not bothered about the dark hole. Lilyflower took a deep breath before going in.

That's when she noticed many cats huddled together in a cavern. WindClan is alive! Lilyflower was overjoyed. There is still four Clans!

"Ferrettail says that you want to speak with me," despite it being dark, Lilyflower managed to see Dawnstar's golden-ish pelt.

"Yes, but first..." she looked around the cavern. "Why is WindClan here?"

"We had no choice," Poppyfoot, the WindClan deputy meowed flatly. "The Dark Forest cats are too strong - the only way we will survive is to hide and hope for the best."

Lilyflower stared at him, speechless. "We... we have to fight!" she protested. "It is the warrior code!"

"The warrior code is gone, the only thing that remains is darkness," Lilyflower heard Rainfall muttering.

"Where is your faith?" she yowled. "The battle has barely started and WindClan has already given up? ThunderClan and RiverClan are fighting for their lives; what about you?"

"It is for the best for the Clan," Dawnstar insisted, sighing. "You must realise that this was a hard decision to make."

"Dawnstar," a small voice called, stepping forward. "I don't think we can carry on like this any further."

"Juniperpaw?" the WindClan leader was surprised to see the apprentice speaking.

"I want to fight, for our Clan," Juniperpaw announced, her voice quivering.

But she has only been made an apprentice a couple of days ago! Yet she sounds like a true warrior.

"Juniperpaw..." Dawnstar mewed, her voice shaking, reminding Lilyflower that Dawnstar was Juniperpaw's mother. "It's for the best."

"I agree with Juniperpaw," another young cat stood beside her, staring at Dawnstar defiantly.

"I do too," a brown she-cat with white spots spoke.

"I may not have the skills of a warrior," Mosspaw, the medicine cat apprentice, mewed, "but I will do all in my power to help."

"Juniperpaw, Spiderpaw, Splashpaw, Mosspaw," Dawnstar's eyes reflected her unspoken pride of her kits. "You are all so brave..."

"WindClan!" Dawnstar spoke up. "We will not let the Dark Forest tear our home apart! I have decided - we will fight alongside the other Clans to fight this evil."

"WindClan! WindClan!" they cheered.

"Dawnstar, Wolfstrike and I came up with a plan to fight the Dark Forest," Lilyflower meowed after the cheers died out.

"Let's hear it," Dawnstar decided, gesturing for Poppyfoot and Sparrowpelt to listen as well.

"If all the Clans push the Dark Forest cats to Fourtrees, it would be easier to help one another," Lilyflower mewed quickly, remembering ThunderClan's damaged camp with a sinking heart.

"That is a good idea," Poppyfoot admitted.

"We could send three patrols to help the other Clans to push the Dark Forest cats to Fourtrees," Sparrowpelt suggested. "Mosspaw and I could hide somewhere nearby and safe so that we can treat injured cats."

"I will send Heatherstorm and..." Dawnstar paused, thinking of who to send.

"I can help," a white she-cat, unrecognisable to Lilyflower, offered.

"Thank you, Feather," Dawnstar gave her a curt nod. "You and Heatherstorm will protect our medicine cats. Poppyfoot, organise three patrols to help the other Clans. WindClan, let's go."

Poppyfoot organised the patrols efficiently and quickly. No wonder he is WindClan's deputy, Lilyflower thought.

"Are you going to ShadowClan?" he asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Yes," she replied.

"Follow that patrol," Poppyfoot gestured to the one beginning to leave. "Good luck."

"Thank you," Lilyflower mumbled. Our faith is lying on a thin layer of ice. It may only be a matter of time before it breaks.
