CHAPTER FOUR
"Clan meeting at the sun rock for all of those who are able to catch prey!" SolaraStar calls to the clan. Doveblaze rubs her eyes and struggles to get up from her rest, but still manages. All of the clan cats gather to the rock and the deputy sits beside. SolaraStar looks serious.
"We have gotten reports of prey that has been stolen from EarthClan." Dove widens her eyes. She starts to panic and breath heavily.
No no no no no... NO! They caught me?! I didn't think they would! This is not good at ALL! Doveblaze thinks. Her thoughts are practically yelling at her. Everyone starts talking about the stolen prey.
"I also got reports of stolen prey from our territory on their land." SolaraStar says. Every clan-cat is in shock. Well, except for Doveblaze.
"So, whoever stole the prey from EarthClan was simply getting our prey back. But, EarthClan has denied these allegations. Now, SunClan and EarthClan are fighting more than ever over this situation. War is not something I suggest, but this is serious. We need more border patrol from now on." SolaraStar exclaims. Doveblaze gives a sigh of relief.
"We need to be careful and safe. My job is to protect this clan, and I'm going to do that, but we need to set out border patrols–" SolaraStar gets cut off. Blazeheart rushes into our clan and is breathing heavily.
"Blazeheart? What is it?" SolaraStar steps down from the rock and every cat follows her. She sits in front of Blazeheart.
"Thornclaw from EarthClan started attacking me! I was doing border patrol and I–" Blazeheart gets cut off.
"WHAT!?" SolaraStar yells. She stood up and she was filled with rage.
"Nobody messes with my clan." SolaraStar runs out of the clan camp and a few clan-cats, including Doveblaze, sprint after her. But when they all get there, it's too late. SolaraStar is screaming at TerraStar and Thornclaw is also being scolded by SolaraStar.
"You don't mess with my clan EVER AGAIN!" She yelled, ears pinned and back arched.
"Woah, woah.. Let's take a moment here–" Thornclaw begins speaking, but is cut off by SolaraStar.
"Do you even hear me!? Stay away from my clan." SolaraStar says in a sharp and deep tone. The deputy, Flamestrike, grabs SolaraStar by her paw and drags her away. Then, Flamestrike steps up to talk to TerraStar.
"Stay away from our clan, ding-bat." Flamestrike says in a sassy tone. TerraStar scoffs.
"Keep your warriors out of our territory first!" TerraStar says. Flamestrike turns and walks away. The clan trots back to SunClan along with the deputy and leader. Doveblaze was circled around her own thoughts. So much was happening, is clan life really this stressful? And why did all of the other clans hate us so much? Because of some territory? Dove trotted over to her den when she suddenly bumps into someone.
"Sorry!" Doveblaze says. Doveblaze looks up from looking at her paws to see.. Heatclaw!?
"You!?" Heatclaw says.
"I'm not sorry anymore." Doveblaze whipped her tail and turned her back and walked away. Heatclaw rolled his eyes. Doveblaze sees the kits and apprentices running around the clan, leaping and jumping around, having fun.
Why do these clans have to be strict? Why do the clans even hate each other?! Especially SunClan! Doveblaze thinks. She shrugs and decides to go hunting for some prey for the pile. Doveblaze heads to the lush and green forest to find some prey. She pounces on a mouse and grasps it between her claws. Doveblaze notices another cat.
"Hey! Who are you?" The cat said to her. Doveblaze is surprised someone actually talked to her.
"Oh ah- I'm Doveblaze, a SunClan warrior. What about you?" Doveblaze exclaims.
"SunClan!? I'm sorry, I can't be with a SunClan warrior, I can't–" The cat says, but Doveblaze grabs her paw.
"It's okay. Nobody will know that this happened. Who are you?" Doveblaze asks again.
"I'm Midnightclaw, a MoonClan warrior." Midnightclaw replies.
"Really? I never see any other clan-cats, especially MoonClan. So, how's your clan? Tell me all about it!" Doveblaze gets a bit too excited about the MoonClan warrior.
"Well, we're all extremely good at hunting, and MoonClan is amazing, but of course, MoonClan hates SunClan, truly opposites." Midnightclaw says. Doveblaze is amazed.
"Midnightclaw! Where are you!?" A cat shouts. Doveblaze widens her eyes.
"I'll see you at the next gathering?" Midnightclaw asks.
"Yeah, sure! See you!" Doveblaze says. Midnightclaw sprints over to her clan camp and Doveblaze trots back to camp with her prey she caught.
I hope I'm not caught. Talking to a cat from another clan!? And especially MoonClan. But, she was so nice. So why are they such enemies? Doveblaze wonders.
It's getting late. I should head back. Doveblaze thinks, running back into the SunClan camp. She walks over to her den and lays down. Doveeblaze rests her head on her paws.
"Hi! What's your name?" A cat says. Doveblaze looks up to see a light orange cat with green eyes.
"I'm Doveblaze, what's your name?" She asks.
"My name's Sunstrike. I've heard a lot about you! So, you were a kittypet, right?" Sunstrike asks while circling her.
"Oh.. well, yes, I was. Leaving my kitty pet life was hard, but I think I made the right choice." Doveblaze sighs.
"What about your training? How is that going?" Sunstrike asks. Doveblaze absolutely hated training, it was time consuming and boring.
I'm stubborn and don't like training, but maybe that's just how I am. She thinks.
"Oh, fine, I guess." Doveblaze replies.
"You know Heatclaw, right?" Sunstrike asks Doveblaze. Yeah, of course she knew him, the most annoying SunClan warrior in the world.
"Oh yeah, I definitely know him.." Doveblaze says.
"Time for training everyone!" Flamestrike, the deputy, calls out.
"Oh, I have to go." Doveblaze says.
"I have to train too. I became a warrior not too long ago, but I still need to do these trainings for some reason." Sunstrike rolls her eyes and sighs.
"Tell me about it! I hate training, I'm already a warrior, so why do I have to train?" Doveblaze says.
"I know right. Well, let's go. I heard that we're having a meeting about training." Sunstrike exclaims.
"Great.." Doveblaze says sarcastically. They start to walk side by side and reach the training grounds in the lush forests.
"Okay everyone, we have to discuss something, so please quiet down and let SolaraStar speak." Flamestrike says. Everyone quiets down and looks at SolaraStar.
"Clan-cats of SunClan, please work hard and show your skills. You will need to learn how to use your skills to your benefit. Does everyone understand?" SolaraStar says.
Wait, why do we have to train harder and use our fighting skills for our benefit? I guess I should do what she says. Doveblaze thinks. Every cat nods and starts training. Brightsplotch teaches Doveblaze a few new fighting moves, and soon enough, the training group was released from training.
"Hey, Doveblaze! So, how did you do?" Sunstrike asks. Doveblaze has a confused look on her face.
"What do you mean?" Doveblaze asks, puzzled.
"Well, I heard some of us are being released from training!" Sunstrike replies. Doveblaze and Sunstrike walk beside each other and Doveblaze is shocked.
"Wait, really!? I don't know how I did, but hopefully I did decent." Doveblaze replies.
"I just hate training, I want to be released. Especially since I'm a warrior but still need to be trained." Sunstrike complains.
"I know right! I feel out of place in the training groups." Doveblaze sighs. Why did she feel so out of place? She didn't even know, but she felt like a failure and that she's not supposed to be there seeing all of the clan-cats. The only kitty pet to join a clan? It seemed so.. Weird.
"I'm sure we'll be released. At least, I hope that we are." Sunstrike tries to reassure Doveblaze.
"Well, I'm going to go sleep now." Doveblaze says.
"Ugh, okay.." Sunstrike said with a sassy tone. Doveblaze walks back to her den and lays down. She lets her head rest in her paws and she falls asleep.
