Work has been kicking me in the ass. Who knew having an actually job would make you do actual hard work. I swear I'm always writing a report or doing some kind of experiment in the lab that takes forever. The only thing that makes time go faster is Barry.

"Ugh... why can't this machine mix this any faster." I say with a huff as Barry laughs at me from behind. "How have you managed to stress yourself out when you just started working here like a week ago." He states causing me to laugh. He always knows how to make me smile. "Why can I say I just like getting things done." I exclaim and I quickly bang on the m'échine in hopes it goes by faster. Before Barry could reply Iris comes into the lab.

"Barry come on!!" Iris states as she comes in with a fancy black dress. "I don't know Iris. I have so much work to do so I don't think I can go to the launch. And besides I got to keep Eliza company!" Barry says as his eyes trail to me. I quickly look away not wanting to get involved but soon realize there entire conversation stoped as they waited for my response. "Oh no it's fine Barry. You can go. I have a report due tomorrow and I can't just watch it on the tv. Besides you guys only have two tickets and I'm not taking it from one of you." I say smiling as the pair. "See Barry!" Iris response before pulling Barry away as he sighs.

I have been solidly writing this report for an hours now. Honestly who knew this job would be so boring. As I go to check up on one of the test tubes I was processing Barry comes into the room. "Barry why are you back so early?" I question giving him a puzzled look. "Some guy tried to rob Iris so we lost our stop. I thought it would be best for me to just get some work done. Plus I wouldn't want to leave you alone." Barry says giving me a slight smile causing me to chuckle. "Aww thanks Barry." I give him a quick kiss on the chick causing him to blush? No that can't be right. With that we get back to work.

All of a sudden we hear a rumble from the distance causing us to shoot out of our seats as I give Barry a scared impression. "Omg Barry! We have to see if Iris and Joe are alright look at that thing!" I cry as I pull out my phone to call the Wests. Not answering my calls and the world slowly enveloping in the red explosion I let out a cry. Barry immediately raps me in a hug. "Hey you're going to be okay. We all are." He says giving me a kiss on the head as I nod by head which is still in his chest trying to catch my breath.

All of a sudden lighting comes out of no striking through the roof knocking down the rest of the chemicals causing them to shatter around us. I look at Barry and notice a lightning strike forming above the cracked roof and push Barry out of the way causing the bolt to hit me instead. I collapse on the ground with a scream as Barry rushes over to me cradling my head in his lap as he tries to call the ambulance. As my senses around me begin to leave a see a bright flash through the window hitting Barry. Looks like him getting strikes was inevitable.

4 months later...

I can hear a beeping noise from off in the distance as my eyes slowly begin to drift open and my senses return back to me. I open my eyes to face a piercing bright light blinding me as I blink trying to adjust to the fixture. "Eliza! You up! Oh my gosh I'm so glad you're okay! Never do that again!" Iris says as she wraps me in a hug as I let out a groan. "What happen." I murmur. "The doctors said you got hit with lightening and didn't know when you would walk up... Barry got hit with you. They said it was super odd that lighting hit the same spot twice... anyways I'm just happy you woke up!" I let out a laugh before trying to sit up only to collapse back in pain. "Slow down Eliza. Don't want to hurt yourself before you can heal." Joe says as he comes through the door before giving a confused look. "Actually it's a miracle you woke up so early. Doctors said it should have taken a year or so because of how much damaged the lighting caused. Looks like you do heal fast." He says as he comes over to great me.

"Wait how is Barry? You said he got hit with me?" I question causing them both to look at each other before looking at the ground. "He is still in a coma, Iz" causing me to cry for one of my dearest friends. After a week I am finally discharged from the hospital and take my regular spot back at work.

The next day I walk to work happily as finally I finished all my tasks and can just relax. I skip down the busy street of Central City wrapped in a scarf and hat protecting me from the cold only to be pulled into a sketchy alleyway. "Give me all your money and jewels now!" The man screams before harshly pushing me back into the wall. Nervousness flows into me and my heart beats even faster as the man's knife pushes farther into my neck and all my prior fighting knowledge Oliver taught me flew out in seconds. Too shocked to speak I begin to stutter nonsense out causing the man to push me into the wall once again.

A weird sensation flows through my body making a bluish gas like aura flow from within me. This blue aura grabs ahold of the man pushing him back against the wall hard and he lets out a groan. Before I can get it under control. Another smack of the bluish gas hits the man knocking him out. As I stare at my hands in shock. What is wrong with me? What monstrous thing have I turned into?
