Chiron continued explaining the rules even though everyone should have known them by now. I threw my now, a bit frizzy, curls in a low ponytail to make sure they stayed out of my face. I'd also made sure to refill my quiver, and I had my bow strapped across my body.

"Do I really have to look out for him? I mean he should be okay...ish. Look, my first capture the flag game the only injuries I had were a dislocated shoulder and like...a broken finger!" I said to Annabeth, she rolled her eyes.

"Just stay close by, I need everything to go according to plan in order for us to win. But no matter what happens, don't step in. We clear?" She asked me, barely above a whisper, but still firm. I sighed dramatically, "Yes, ma'am," I muttered.

"As always, there will be no maiming, and no killing," Chiron continued, "I trust these rules will be respected." We all knew they wouldn't be though.

I glance to Lynn who was on the Ares side, she had been sharpening her sword, while still listening intently as Chiron spoke to all of camp.

No matter how many years of capture the flag she failed against him, or how much she loved him and wished she didn't have to fight against him of all people, she aspired to be better than Luke at fighting. It'd be glory for herself, her cabin and...her father, Ares. She didn't just crave glory, she lived for it.

Her beautiful, rusty waves fell out from a low bun she'd thrown them into earlier in the day. Her hair had always reminded me of burning flames. Her helmet kept any frizz from being visible. Her bright blue eyes focused down on her sword as she hurried at her work.

She bit her lip a bit as she worked away, a single drop of sweat fell as she continued. Eventually, in her eyes, her sword was perfect, and she sighed.

When she looked up from her sword, she spotted me and we locked eyes. My umber eyes piercing through her crystal blue ones. I gave her a small nod, wishing her luck, even if she really didn't need it.

I looked up at Chiron, listening mindlessly to the rules, but I was still itching to just run off and start.

I looked around at our team members for capture the flag and saw Lorelei staring at Chiron as if she was getting bored more and more by every second. The thing that stood out to me was that she was the only camper without armor.

"Luke..." I said just above a whisper, still fiddling with the edge of the armor. "Yeah, what's up?" Luke asked tightening a strap on his chest plate.

She glanced around at everyone mindlessly and no one seemed to even bat an eye at the girl with no armor.

"Why....Why doesn't she have any armor on?" I asked growing slightly irritated by her cockiness, "Is this seriously just something else she's 'too good for'?"

Luke smirked slightly, obviously sensing my irritation. "Oh, you mean Lore, well...in a way, you're correct. No one's been able to catch her for all the capture the flag games she's played."
