AURELIA POV
-
The two arrived at the restaurant, João parking the car and taking his seatbelt off. She took off her seatbelt as well and was about to open the door but he stopped her before she could.
"No, I'll do it." He said quickly getting out his side and going around to open her door. He took her hand, helping her out, closing the door.
"Thank you" She said smiling and he nodded. They both then went up to the front of the restaurant and entered. It was really beautiful. The dim lights and soft music was something quite different to what she normally experiences. It's often always loud and a little too fancy.
Coming here almost felt like a breath of fresh air, it was calming and it felt like you can have a proper conversation with your partner instead of just yelling over each other.
"Buenas noches, señor y señora. ¿En qué puedo ayudarlos?" The man smiled at them both politely, dresssd in a black suit.
(Translation: Good evening sir and ma'am. How can I help you?)"Hice una reserva a nombre de João Félix."
(Translation: I made a reservation under the name Joáo Felix.)"Ya veo. Por aquí, serás la mesa número 7 y tu camarero llegará pronto."
(Translation: I see. Right this way, you will be table 7 and your waiter will arrive soon.)The man lead them outside to their table and João slid the seat out for Aurelia as she sat down comfortably.
"This place is really nice.""I know, I picked it out just for you. We're also close to the beach because I know you love it." He smiled sitting down as well and leaning slightly back on his chair.
Her heart beat and fluttered a bit, his charm was unmatched."That's so sweet." She smiled feeling her face get slightly warm at his words.
"So, how is soccer going? Everything okay?"
"Yeah, it's going pretty well actually. I'm playing alot more now but i don't know, i feel like Barcelona isn't for me."
"Why, what do you mean?" Aurelia tilted her head in confusion. She wasn't expecting that from him, she thought he loved it there.
"I mean, I love it because of my friends and teammates but I feel like I don't fit in well with the team. And my old club, Chelsea. They want me back. I just have to say yes or no" João said smiling softly.
"Well what are you thinking? Do you want to go back or.." Aurelia felt kind of bad, it seemed that he really did enjoy himself here with his teammates but was struggling to fit in and she can just imagine how it felt.
"I want to go back but that just means I must move again. It's fine because I already know the city of Chelsea but it's like I would have to start all over again." He played with his fork, looking a bit sad.
"I'm sorry. I get that but maybe it's just for the best. Maybe this is what you need. I mean you played there before and if they want you back then clearly it's for a reason." She reached out holding his hand and rubbing it reassuringly.
"You're right. I still have two months to decide, they told me way before — well actually no. Neto told me accidentally, he plays for Chelsea as well. The coach just said at least you have more time to think about it."
He shrugged his shoulders."I think I'll do it though." He nodded smiling softly.
His smile was so cute.
"I'm proud of you." She said and joão's heart almost exploded. It was not every often he heard that phrase come from someone, it really meant alot to him that someone actually recognised his hardwork and can credit him for it.
