AUTHOR POV:The sound of soft footsteps echoed in the grand hall of Jungkook's mansion as Jin paced back and forth near the living room. His eyes flickered to the clock on the wall, his concern growing with each passing minute. Jeongchan was nestled comfortably on the couch, his small body bundled in a fuzzy blanket. Jin had been keeping the boy entertained all evening, but the question still nagged at him: What was happening at the lawyer's office?
Just as the clock struck nine, the main door creaked open. Jungkook stepped inside, his sharp suit slightly disheveled, his tie hanging loose around his neck. His expression was unreadable, but Jin didn't miss the tightness in his jaw or the tension in his shoulders.
"You're late," Jin said, his voice calm but laced with curiosity.
Jungkook ignored him at first, his eyes immediately seeking Jeongchan. The boy stirred slightly at the sound of the door, his eyes fluttering open.
"Daddy?" Jeongchan's voice was soft, still heavy with sleep.
Jungkook crossed the room in a few quick strides, kneeling beside the couch. "I'm here, Jeongchan-ah. Did you wait for me?"
Jeongchan nodded, rubbing his sleepy eyes. "jinnie Uncle read me stories, but I wanted to show you the dragons I drew."
Jungkook smiled faintly, brushing the boy's hair back. "I'll see them tomorrow, okay? For now, you need to sleep."
As Jungkook lifted Jeongchan in his arms, Jin watched silently. There was a vulnerability in Jungkook's movements, a gentleness that only surfaced when he was with his son.
"Jungkook," Jin started, his tone cautious. "What happened at the lawyer's office?"
Jungkook paused for a moment, his grip tightening around Jeongchan. Without looking at Jin, he muttered, "Not now, hyung."
The dismissive tone wasn't lost on Jin, but he didn't push. He could see the storm brewing behind Jungkook's eyes, the way his mind seemed miles away even as he held his son.
"Alright," Jin said quietly. "I'll get going. Call me if you need anything."
Jungkook gave a small nod, already walking towards the stairs with Jeongchan in his arms. Jin sighed, glancing around the dimly lit room before grabbing his coat and leaving silently.

JUNGKOOK POV:The house was quiet as I carried Jeongchan upstairs, his warm, tiny arms looped loosely around my neck. His head rested against my shoulder, and I could feel his soft breaths tickling my skin. For a moment, the weight of the world felt distant, eclipsed by the steady rhythm of his breathing.
"Daddy?" he murmured as I pushed open the door to his bedroom. His sleepy voice was so small, so innocent, that it made my chest ache.
"Yes, Bub?" I replied gently, lowering him onto his bed.
