Social events are meant to be enjoyable, it was where one could freely revel in an interest shared by another and have smiles on their faces while conversing about it. In Marchen, to hold a grand occasion with countless guests were a big deal because this was one of the best grounds to connect with other established editors, possible sponsors, authors, etc. Celebrating an author was a big deal at Marchen, stories were sacred.
One time it was stated by the previous Marchen Governor that anyone could be an author, each one of them were writers possessing unique voices and styles. The notion once moved Alyssa, it touched her heart and made those unique-colored eyes glimmer with enthusiasm to try letting the world know about stories only she could write.
That was before the delusion of hope shattered.
In contrast to her identical twin's stoic expression, Alyssa didn't hide the animosity and anger she was waiting to unleash on the man they must referred as their father. Alessa had bruises on her arms, those would take long before it healed.
"Let's make this quick, shall we? I am not in the whole mood yet for a full blast entertainment, twin" Alessio declared with his endless air of nonchalance.
They reached the socializing venue, good graciousness it was already past 10 in the evening but they were still at it. Alyssa was okay heeding to her twin's wish to get this over with—just confront their father about hurting Alessa and shoved a piece of their minds in his loud mouth.
"She is such a waste for a pretty face, eh? Good thing the modeling industry is not dormant or she will really end up without contribution to this extravagant family."
"They are children of a mad woman, no one will be interested in their stories."
"Anneliese used to write too when she was alive but she ended up butchering her works"
"I daresay everyone from Anneliese's side are lunatics, look at how she became!"
"For sure her children are too"
The twins stopped in mid-steps on their way out to the venue, they really just intended to confront their father but hearing these people tirelessly talk rubbish about their mother and finding enjoyment in being part of the 'Anneliese and her children are mad bitches' bandwagon, it brought a surge of irritating crawl up to their nerves.
'This will never stop, will it?' Alyssa was having a hard time making her breathing even. She felt the sudden heaviness in her chest and black clouds filling her mind.
Social events are meant to be fun and enjoyable, but this was also everyone's nesting ground to talking shit about their mother and the reason the rumor mill never stopped. People bringing others down for their own pedestal to go up, mocking laughter everywhere and sarcastic choices of words.
Alessio exhaled, he didn't need to look at Alyssa to identify her mood. As twins, they could easily predict their mood shifts. "Alyssa? Want to stir some shit tonight? We will get in trouble tomorrow morning anyway so why don't we make the most out of this?"

When Gino Kingsley returned from his walk in the back garden, he found the gaiety and merriment turned upside down. Chaos erupted here and there, everyone had been disheveled.
It didn't take long for Gino to find the source of the trouble.
"YOU MONSTERS! WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS HUH?!" Ramon Laceheart was seething in rage, shaking and hands clenched into fists as he stood in an aggravated stance surrounded by his subordinates.
No remorse, guilt nor hesitation in those pair of dual-colored eyes, the twins stood unbothered and clearly smug after breaking objects and hitting those people whom they heard badmouthing their mother.
