Dipper was awestruck. Never before, in his life, had he happened upon such a magnificent cavern as this one. It seemed to glow colors Dipper hadn't seemed to ever imagine before. A scarlet yellow, a teal purple. It seemed unreal. Of course, that was typical for this town.

Gravity Falls had yet to bore Dipper. Ever since he'd found Journal 3, only 4 summer ago, he hadn't ever wanted to leave this town. Now he was 16 and had decided to move down to Gravity Falls Oregon. He lived with his two great uncles now in the new and improved Mystery Shack. Stanley and Stanford both managed the Shack now. They had also built onto the small shack, adding more rooms, another area for tourists, and also a spare bedroom. It was meant for Dipper, though he preferred his typical attic room.

Dipper picked up a strange stone from the floor to examine it. The stone, a perfect oval shaped stone that glowed a pink redish color, seemed to throb. As if it had its own heartbeat. Intrigued, Dipper took off his brown backpack and placed the glowing stone into it. Along with the stone, Dipper could see the other items he had brought along with him. He smiled and thought, Oh the memories these bring back. 4 years and they still give me flashbacks clear as day.

Dipper rustled his hand in the pack, pushing aside his Presidents key (which he kept on him at all times), a few pieces of beef jerky, Journal #3 (Grunkle Ford had decided it best to keep with him), a pen, and a few gum wrappers. He finally grabbed what he was looking for. Pulling it out slowly, he finally held it up to the glow of the cavern. Before him, he held his tattered, bent, blue Pine Tree hat. He hadn't really worn it since his first summer there, but he had never let go of it. Dipper smiled.

"So you finally found this old place." Dipper swerved around, startled to find Ford standing at the entrance to the cavern. Ford was old, but he could still take on a 7-headed bear if need be. Surviving in the portal world had strengthened him immensely.

"Hey Ford, what's up?" Dipper placed his pack and hat on the ground, leaving them there, then walked farther into the cavern. Ford followed him.

"You know, I discovered this beauty of a place only a few days before I started going nuts, with that portal you know? But I never had time to write anything about it in my journals. I called it, Crystal Falls. I know, cheesy."

"No, I like it." Dippers gaze fell onto a stalagmite. It was orange and purple, mixed in a beautiful swirl. "The amount of sparkles in this place wold put Mabel in coma."

Ford laughed tracing his fingers against the walls. "She's still into that type of thing huh?"

"Definitely. Her backpack she used for 10th grade had so much glitter and sparkles on it, that if you stood just right in the light, you could get blinded." He mimed himself falling over, covering his eyes and laughing. Ford chuckled softly. "I miss having her around," Ford said.

"I know she was your favorite, Grunkle Ford." Dipper turned around to face his great Uncle. "And I think she'd love to be down here with us right now. But you know why she isn't here right now."

Ford rubbed the back of his head. "Jeez kid, you make it sound like she's dead. I know she's just studying abroad right now. She really took an interest into Vet work and animals huh?"

"Yep. She sure did." Dipper stopped walking and turned around.

"Did you hear that?" Dipper asked. Ford walked up to Dippers side, nodding his head slowly.

"Welcome back Ford!" A voice cut through the silence. "And Dipper!! Welcome, Welcome!" Dipper backed up against the wall while Ford swung his head around while pacing in a small circle to try and find the source of the voice. He looked stressed.

"That's not Bill's voice, yet. . ." Dipper muttered to himself. "It seems so alike to it. It's uncanny. ." Ford pushed Dipper back toward the entrance of the Cavern.

"Get out o-" Ford's sentence was cut short as the walls around them turned into only one color. It was a mix of blue and violet. A laugh surrounded the two. The sudden change of color in the cavern seemed to paralyze the two. Dipper couldn't move.

Ford crumbled to the ground, almost silently. Dipper tried to yell, but was only able to choke out a few strangled noises, before he himself fell to the ground. The laughter slowly dimmed, just as his vision slowly did. "Welcome Dipper! Sleep now. Talk later." The voice encircled his fading hearing, then black void. Dipper's body went limp.

"Poor Dipper Pines." The voice softened into a calmer, more smooth tone. The figure emerged from the shadows in the back of the Cavern. "Crystal Falls. Yeah right. This place already has a name and it's Demon's Rest."
