Don't wish. Don't start. Wishing only wounds the heart. There's a girl I know, he loves her. So... I'm not that girl.

Mabel listened to her Wicked soundtrack, the short and depressed song in the back of her thoughts as she stared down at her summer homework. Her room was decorated with many different ornaments of sparkles, pink and purple things, and anything that had to do with cute animals. Sweaters of all assortments were tossed around the room. Most were a little too small for her now, though she still keeps them around.

"They give me comfort Bro!" She told Dipper once. One in particular though, she had not kept. Her infamous shooting star sweater had disappeared for years now. She told everyone she just lost it. But in reality, she knew exactly where it was.

After the summer at Gravity Falls, the one of 2012, she had taken her old sweater, and burned it till nothing to hold was left. She had tried to hold her feelings in for so long. Now with Dipper finally gone and her parents, distant as ever, on a long Hawaiian vacation, she finally had time to herself.

One short day in the Emerald City! One short day, oh there's so much to do!

Mabel threw a shoe at her radio, knocking it over and turning it off.

"Shut up," she muttered, glaring at nothing in particular. 16 years she had been alive. High School was killing her. Stress and school work was fine, not really a problem for her. But, Mabel, who most would think would have plenty of friends, had been struggling to talk to anyone since the first day of High School.

More importantly than that, since after Gravity Falls 2012, she has been struggling with nonstop haunting nightmares. Her internal fight against old memories was silent and nonexistent on the outside. No one knew about her depression, she hid everything with a mask.

Being home alone like this didn't help with her crippling fear of being alone, or the dark. Both fears she picked up in 2012. Being surrounded by stuffed animals and sweaters gave her a slight feeling of comfort, but even that passion had dissipated to almost nothing in 2012.

Waddles, now a big fat lazy pig, stayed outside in a home built pen. Dipper and both Grunkles had made the small swine shed for Mabel as a late birthday present.

Nowadays, Mabel had rarely any time to talk to her pig, though she felt that he was truly her only friend in California.

Giving up, finally, she pushed her papers forward and pulled out her iPhone 6 Plus. Her parents decided they would spoil their children after they started High School. Neither Mabel or Dipper could understand why, but they were grateful anyways.

Pulling up Tumblr, she scrolled through the inappropriate, funny, and sad posts. Nothing fazed her though. She never laughed in truth anymore. Only faked and forced laughs.

The door bell rang, making Mabel jump a bit. Odd, she thought. Everyone thinks this house is empty.
Slowly and quietly she walked to the door peering through the peak hole. Someone had covered it. Backing up, she ran back to her room.

Crash.

"Fuck," she whispered softly.

"Child! Where are you little child?! Let's talk. Come on back out!" It was slick voice, like butter. It sent shivers down Mabel's back. Grabbing her bat she keeps by her bedside, she slowly and silently slipped into her closet.

"Just kidding beautiful," the voice whispered into her ear. Whisking around, Mabel came face to face with the intruder. In the closet. "I know where you are." He smiled a grin that reminded her all to much of old memories.

His grin, paralyzing her where she stood, was the last things she saw as she blacked out. Another man standing behind her had a used syringe in his hand as he stood behind her.

He looked down on the now collapsed girl. He frowned playfully.

"So how is this kid going to help Verra? She's a depressed human who doesn't even look like she has life left in her eyes." The man speaking, the one with the now empty syringe, looked back up at his brother. "Seriously, Mack, I want to know why!"

Mack, a tall slender man with a suit on, answered with the same grin still stuck to his face. "She's our cheat, Buck. The kid Verra decided to have a little fun with, well he'll do anything so long as we have his sister."

The other, Buck, wore the same suit but was a much larger man. He nodded then pulled a large bag off his back. "Time to get her to Verra then."
