The early morning sun filtered through the window as Y/N hummed a lively tune, her heart light with anticipation. Today was Thanksgiving, a day she cherished as it was all about gratitude and sharing with those she loved. The crewmates and impostors watched her with wide, curious eyes as she bustled around the kitchen, setting up ingredients and decorations with a joyful energy they hadn't seen before.
"What's all this?" Red finally asked, crossing his arms as he tilted his head.
Y/N smiled at them, her eyes sparkling. "Today is Thanksgiving! It's a holiday where we celebrate family and express what we're thankful for. And, of course, we have a giant feast to enjoy together."
"A feast?" White's eyes lit up with excitement, and his tiny feet shuffled as he imagined the food.
"Yes!" Y/N laughed. "But it's more than just food. It's about appreciating one another and being grateful."
A collective murmur of excitement rippled through the group as they looked at one another with newfound determination. They wanted to help. Red puffed out his chest and said, "Well, let's not just stand here! Let's get cooking!"
Soon, the kitchen was filled with an eager commotion. Y/N assigned everyone different tasks: Black and Purple were put in charge of peeling potatoes, while Blue and Green worked together to chop vegetables for the stuffing. Yellow, with his careful precision, measured ingredients for the pies, and White gleefully mixed a bowl of cranberry sauce, his movements causing little splatters of red to dot the counter.
"Careful, White," Y/N said with a chuckle, wiping up a spot of sauce. "We want the food to stay in the bowls, not on the walls."
White's eyes widened, and he nodded solemnly. "Sorry, Y/N. I'll be more careful."
"It's okay," she said, patting his head. "You're doing great."
Black watched the scene with a soft smile, feeling a warmth in his chest. He worked quietly, lost in thought as he peeled the last potato, thinking of how far they had come since Y/N found them and took them in.
Purple snapped him out of his reverie by nudging him with an elbow. "Hey, don't get lost in your thoughts, Black. We've got work to do."
"I know," Black muttered, pulling his hood down a bit to hide the slight flush creeping up his cheeks.
The hours flew by as laughter and the scent of roasting turkey, simmering gravy, and warm pies filled the house. The crewmates and impostors buzzed with excitement as they worked, occasionally sneaking tastes and sharing playful banter.
"Green, stop eating the stuffing!" Y/N called out with mock sternness, catching him in the act.
Green froze, his cheeks stuffed like a chipmunk's before he swallowed and grinned sheepishly. "Sorry, it's just really good!"
Finally, the food was ready, and Y/N set the table with plates overflowing with delicious dishes. The crewmates and impostors gathered around, eyes wide and smiles bright as they took in the spread.
"Wow, this is amazing," Blue said, his voice full of awe.
Y/N beamed at them and gestured for everyone to take their seats. Once they were all settled, she took a moment to look at each of their little faces, her heart swelling with love.
"Before we eat," she began, "let's say what we're thankful for."
The room fell silent as they considered this. Red spoke up first, his voice strong. "I'm thankful for having all of you as my friends. We're a great team."
"And I'm thankful for all the fun we have," chimed in Yellow, his smile bright.
"I'm thankful for all the food," Green said with a playful wink, drawing chuckles from everyone.
When it was Black's turn, he hesitated, his fingers fidgeting with the edge of his hood. "I'm thankful for Y/N," he finally said, his voice soft but steady. "For taking us in all those months ago and caring for us."
A chorus of "Aww"s filled the room, and Black's face turned a deep shade of red as he quickly pulled his hood over his tiny face. "Stop staring at me like that," he mumbled.
Y/N's eyes shimmered with emotion as she placed a hand over her chest. "Oh, Black, that's so sweet. I'm glad I took you guys in too. You all are the greatest thing that's happened to me these past few months."
"Yay!" the crewmates and impostors cheered, their voices blending together in joy. "You're welcome, Y/N!"
With that, they all dug into their Thanksgiving meal, laughter and conversation filling the room. The warmth of the day lingered, wrapping them in a comforting embrace, and for a moment, everything felt perfect. Y/N looked around at her makeshift family, her heart full of gratitude, knowing that this was what Thanksgiving was all about.
