Peridot: So can you explain this.. Birth of the day?

She looked down at Lars who was rumbling through the mess of a junk in the barn as she glance to the outside where she watched Steven with the Gems are at the table.

Peridot: Is it that important to delay this extremely important mission of 'Saving The Earth'?

Taking notice of Peridot obvious confusion, Lars turn to look where she was observing as he show a soft smile to himself, seeing such a calming scene.

Lars: Think of it like this... Celebrating the day where you came into existence and so you and your close love ones celebrate the day.

Peridot: That is.... Stupid! Why would anyone want to celebrate the day of creation when they should rather celebrate only when they do something that is worth it... Like continuing the construction the drill to stop the cluster~?

Lars: Humans here on Earth enjoy celebrating, even if it for such a little thing such as getting a golden star from their mentor or perhaps when lovers officially get engaged.

Peridot: Engaged? What are these human terminology that you are saying?

Lars glance back down to the junk.

Lars: Look at Garnet and I will explain.

Thus Peridot clearly wanting to understand what Lars are saying, would look at Garnet.

Lars: She is a fusio-

Peridot: I already know that! What is your point?

Lars: I was getting to it.

He sighed but continued.

Lars: Fusion of gems are similar to being in-love with each other but unofficially. 

The explanation then shot a example into Peridot mind as she remembered her and Garnet talk about fusion.

Peridot: Like Percy and Paulette?

Lars: Like who...? Ah... Sure? Now imagine them wearing a special made ring on their finger and making pledges to forever love them and being always together.

This meaning of marriage is now being understood by Peridot as she thought of Percy and Paulette with rings as they make pledges of oath to each other as she happily nod.

Seem like she understood the basic but best to focus more on the task.

Peridot: Now I see... So is the Steven being engaged?

Lars head fell as he turn to look at Peridot who had a serious thoughtful expression.

Lars: N-No... He is celebrating his day of Birth or 'Birthday' and not getting engaged.

Peridot: So do they just celebrate this birthday? or is there more too it?

Lars: Just his birthday, enjoy food like cake and drinks, party and gifts.

Peridot: Gifts?

She glances to her tape recorder and turn to Lars, he knew so much so to understand how earth works for her benefit, she will use such information from Lars.

Lars: Yes like presenting him with anything that would be meaning full like a card, present of objects or anything really.

Peridot: Do every human celebrate this birthday?

Lars: Majority, yes.

Peridot: Do you?

This made Lars stay quiet, this body of his... Lars would have with his love ones in his life but Archer don't, and he wont. He see no reason for his own birthday to be celebrated after everything that he done, It would only be hypocritical as like celebrating Hitler birthday in Archer eyes.

Lars: Peridot, can you inform me of what we are trying to find?

Lars and Peridot mostly kept to themselves, chatting with each other about the Drill along with other topic such as Humanity, life on earth and things such as advancement of technology but for Lars question, he would ask her about her adjustment on Earth and trying to understand how the Crystal Gems feel about rejecting their homeland for the earth to which Peridot had NO idea why the gems would defect from Home-World and reject their own Diamond.

She was still loyal to Home-World, no matter what she does or she learns, she will still be loyal to Home-World unless she makes the decision on her own term to defect but there is nothing Lars can do to make it so, and he wont. It is not on him to make sure she loyal to earth....

If she do decide to put the earth in danger then he will simply ensure she will never escape those bubbles that the Gems are able to do to capture gems... Lars will still protect the earth even if it cost him killing hundreds of people or thousands of gems...
