The Bachelorette's Story

Week One: One-on-One Date

Alex's POV

I woke up before anyone in the mansion did. Andrew was on his bed snoring as I got dressed for my date with Ally. Once done, I quietly left the room and headed for the door. I left and walked out of the mansion only to be greeted by a smiling Ally. 

"Hey there. Took you long enough," she said as she ran up to me and hugged me. I let out a small laugh and squeeze her back. 

"What do you mean? It's not even 9 yet." I look down at my watch noting that I was definitely early. She giggled as she took my hand in hers leading me to her car. "I know. I've been waiting here since 8. I guess I'm excited." She released my hand and started reaching for the door. I quickly grab it and open it for her. 

"Such a gentleman. Thank you," she said as she got into the car. I closed the door behind her and walked over to the drivers side. Getting in, she pressed a button that released the roof. "It's a convertible?" She just shook her head and wiggled in excitement. I let out a laugh and started the car. I placed my hand on the stick shift to put it in drive, when she put her hand on my hand and looked at me. She smiled and leaned back. I smiled back and started driving. Half way through the drive she took my hand and placed it on her leg. Letting go of my hand and turning up the radio. "Oh my gosh. I love this song!" she said before she started singing along to 'Dust Off Your Boots". 

 As the song came to an end, she reached for the radio again and turned the volume back down. "So, do you have any idea of what we are doing today?"

"Well, I'm pretty sure we are going on a hike." She just shook her head and beamed. "We are! I have been wanting to hike some of these trails around here since season 1 premiered." 

"Well then, I'm excited as well. I think we are almost there." I looked at the GPS on the dash and turn left. As the GPS leads me to a parking lot across from a park, I can feel her wiggle again. I take a quick glance at her and smile. She is beaming from ear to ear as she takes in the area.

"We are here. Let's start," I said as I turn the car off and step out of the car. I run over to her side and open her door for her. She sticks her legs out and I give her my hand to help her up. She takes it and stands up. "Thank you. I think our tour guide is over there." She points to a group of people at the end of the parking lot and practically runs over to them. I laughed as I attempt to keep up with her. 

The tour guide looked our direction and walked towards us. "You must be Ally and Alex.

"Yes we are." Ally responded.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Mike. I will be your tour guide for the day." Ally and I nodded in response. "Perfect. Go ahead and join the group and we will get started soon."

We both walk back to the group, waiting for Mike to begin.

"Ok guys. Goodmorning everyone. My name is Mike and I will be your tour guide for the day. Just a few rules before we start.
1. Please stay with the group until we reach the half way point. That is where we will break up and end the tour. There will be a separate guide if needed to bring you back.
2. If you have any questions about anything, please try to hold them until we stop at our way points. We will have 3 way points on the way, so there will be plenty of time to ask everything.
3. If you want to take pictures, please do. There are going to be beautiful wildlife where we are going. Just please do not step off of the path to do so. 
4. Please no feeding the animals. They are wild animals. Most times, human food could hurt them. 
That's it. If everyone wants to follow me, we will get started."

I look at Ally as she looks at me. We are both smiling, excited to start. She takes my hand in hers and squeezes. I squeeze it back and begin to walk with the group. She keeps her hand in mine as we walk and look around. "Thank you for choosing me for this date. I am already having an amazing time."
