He began his sermon in a firm, clear voice: "Today, I want to remind you of the value of both punishments and rewards in our lives. Punishments that shape and purify, teachings that remind us of who we are and what we seek. A punishment, well deserved and just, purges weakness, redirects the straying, and offers us the opportunity to rebuild ourselves, to rectify."The cultists listened with reverence, their eyes fixed on Narinder. He continued, inspiring with his words both respect and a sacred fear. "Rewards, on the other hand, are the confirmation of our actions and our faith. They remind us that every sacrifice, every act of loyalty and devotion, is echoed in the blessings we receive. For those who are faithful, the reward is certain; and for those who betray, justice is also certain."As he spoke, Narinder felt Lambert's gaze, watching him in admiration, and sensed Goliath's firm presence at his side, sensing that the bond between the three, though still complex, was strong. The connection between them seemed more solid at this moment, both in the realm of worship and in their hearts. As the sermon ended, the cultists stood up with serene smiles and faces full of gratitude, talking excitedly among themselves about Narinder's words. Some bowed in respect before leaving to continue their daily tasks. The atmosphere was permeated with renewed energy and devotion. As the temple fell silent, Narinder turned to Lambert and Goliath. Without a second thought, he put his arms around them, enveloping them in a firm and warm embrace. Lambert sighed in happiness, leaning back against Narinder's chest, thoroughly enjoying this display of affection. He closed his eyes, immersed in the peace that his husband and god's embrace gave him, feeling completely protected and loved.Goliath, although he kept his brow furrowed and his posture rigid, allowed himself to relax slightly, secretly enjoying the contact. His eyes closed briefly, and although his expression remained that of a tough guy, he couldn't help but feel something special in that embrace. As much as he tried to resist, Narinder's warmth managed to pierce through his defenses.Narinder gently released them, smiling at their different reactions.Goliath shook his head with a snort, crossing his arms. "You two are so sweet that you give me cavities."Lambert laughed softly and, without losing his sweetness, replied with humor: "Thank goodness we're immortal, so you'll never have to go to the dentist!"Goliath rolled his eyes, but let out a hidden smile. Narinder smiled too, amused by the dynamic between the two."Well," he said, looking at the two of them, "I'll leave you two to look after the cult. I'm off to Darkwood."He gave them one last look and, with a calm smile, walked out of the temple, leaving the two bovids in the spacious enclosure, both feeling as though their little world was still growing in complexity and camaraderie.
