Under the same umbrella, Narinder and Lambert walked quickly through the curtain of rain, the sound of falling water intensifying the intimacy of the moment. Each shared step in the small space of the umbrella brought them even closer, and their intertwined hands transmitted the warmth that the storm could not cool. The atmosphere felt charged with something special, as if the rain itself blessed their walk together under the gray sky.
Reaching the entrance of their home, they both hurried inside. Lambert shook himself, causing a soft tinkling of his golden bell, while Narinder watched him with a smile, fascinated by his every move.
"And... where is Goliath?" Lambert asked, as he shook the moisture from his wool.
Narinder, after removing his soaked robe, approached Lambert with a warm and tender gaze. Without a word, she began to help him remove the red cloak with an almost devoted care, as if she were stripping him of something more than just a garment.
"He's in the next cabin," Narinder replied, as he arranged the damp cloak on a coat rack. "He fell asleep; the poor thing barely has any strength now that he's a mortal."
Lambert watched Narinder, amused but also with some curiosity.
"Well, it's still early to go to sleep," he replied, as he relaxed under Narinder's touch. "Hopefully this won't throw the goat off its sleep schedule."
Narinder moved even closer, his hands sliding through Lambert's soft wool. He couldn't help but sink his claws into the fluffy fur, as if he never wanted to let go. On impulse, he bent his head and placed a soft kiss on the lamb's neck, while his arms surrounded him with palpable affection.
"Don't worry," Narinder whispered tenderly, burying his face in the wool. "Goliath will be fine. He has no obligations here; he is a very special being, like you and me."
Lambert smiled and caressed his cheek, enjoying the moment, but his curiosity persisted.
"I would rather go visit him," he commented with a slight smile. "It would be interesting to chat with a variant of me."
Narinder, however, hugged him more firmly, as if he wanted to keep him forever.
"Do you want to leave your beautiful god alone and abandoned?" he said in a childish tone, pretending to pout and looking into his eyes.
Lambert laughed softly at Narinder's adorable attempt to keep him.
"It would only be for a little while," he replied with a light laugh, giving him a gentle squeeze in the hug, knowing that, although he was tempted to meet Goliath, he could not be away from Narinder for long.
Lambert approached Narinder and gently took him by the face, holding him with both hands. In a slow and tender movement, he brought his lips close to Narinder's, giving him a deep and loving kiss, as if he wanted to convey all the love and gratitude he felt at that moment. It was a kiss that spoke without words, leaving in the air a mixture of sweetness and silent promises.
After a few seconds, Lambert separated from the kiss, still looking into his eyes, with an apologetic smile.
"Sorry, but curiosity is important to me," he said, as he picked up his cloak again.
Narinder dropped onto his bed, feigning a dramatic sigh and giving him an amused look.
"Okay!" he exclaimed playfully. "But this will cost you dearly later~."
Lambert gave him a charming smile and left the house, walking quickly through the rain to the nearby cabin. The heavy rain made any sound drown out in the constant pounding on the floor and roof, so he simply pushed open the door and entered.
