The days leading up to the baby’s arrival were a mix of chaos and calm, and Fourth had taken on the role of being both caretaker and occasional drill sergeant. Gemini, as energetic and spontaneous as ever, found himself being reminded—constantly—not to overdo things.

“Gem, sit down,” Fourth scolded gently one afternoon when he caught his husband trying to reach for a box on a high shelf. “You’re not supposed to stretch like that.”

“I’m not an invalid,” Gemini protested, pouting as Fourth easily retrieved the box for him.

“No, but you’re carrying a baby, and I don’t want you hurting yourself,” Fourth replied, setting the box on the counter before pulling Gemini into his arms. “I’ll handle the heavy lifting, alright?”

Gemini rolled his eyes but leaned into Fourth’s embrace anyway. “You’re too good to me, you know that?”

“Someone has to be,” Fourth teased, earning a playful swat on the chest.

The quiet moments between them were punctuated by bursts of chaos, thanks to Gemini’s unpredictable cravings and Fourth’s meticulous preparation. One night, Gemini woke Fourth at 2 a.m., poking his side insistently.

“Fourth. Fourth, wake up.”

Fourth groaned, half-asleep. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”

“I need noodles,” Gemini declared, his tone serious.

“Noodles?” Fourth mumbled, blinking up at him.

“Yes. Spicy noodles. Now,” Gemini demanded.

Fourth sighed but got out of bed, grabbing his wallet and keys. “You owe me,” he grumbled, though there was a small smile on his face as he headed out to find an open noodle shop.

Phuwin and Dunk stopped by often, bringing laughter and a bit of mischief into the house. Phuwin, ever the doting sibling, fussed over Gemini’s every need, while Dunk hovered awkwardly, clearly out of his depth.

“You know,” Phuwin said one evening, “you’re lucky Fourth is so patient. I’d have lost my mind by now.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Fourth replied dryly, earning a laugh from Gemini.

Dunk, however, was uncharacteristically quiet, his gaze shifting between Gemini and the growing baby bump. “You guys really are something else,” he said finally.

Gemini raised an eyebrow. “Is that your way of saying you love me?”

Dunk smirked, shaking his head. “Don’t push your luck.”

The one person who was most excited about the baby’s arrival, aside from Gemini and Fourth, was Kian. Whenever he visited, the five-year-old would hover around Gemini, asking endless questions.

“Is the baby going to be my cousin or my uncle?” Kian asked one afternoon, his small brow furrowed in concentration.

Gemini laughed. “Technically, the baby will be your cousin. But you can call them whatever you want.”

Kian nodded solemnly. “I’m going to be the best big cousin ever.”

“I’m sure you will,” Fourth said, ruffling Kian’s hair affectionately.

Kian beamed up at him. “Can I teach the baby how to draw?”

“You can teach them anything you want,” Gemini replied, smiling as he imagined Kian proudly showing the baby his art.

As the due date approached, Fourth became even more attentive, and Gemini couldn’t help but tease him about it.

“You’re acting like the baby’s going to pop out any second,” Gemini joked one evening as Fourth triple-checked the hospital bag.

“I just want everything to be ready,” Fourth replied, his tone serious. “I don’t want to leave anything to chance.”

Gemini reached out, tugging Fourth down to sit beside him on the couch. “Hey,” he said softly, cupping Fourth’s face in his hands. “We’ve got this. Okay?”

Fourth sighed, leaning into Gemini’s touch. “I know. I just… I want everything to be perfect for you. For us.”

“It already is,” Gemini assured him, pulling him into a kiss.

---

Despite the occasional chaos, the love and excitement in their home were undeniable. As they prepared to welcome their baby into the world, Fourth and Gemini found themselves more connected than ever, their bond stronger than even they had imagined.

Little did they know, the next chapter of their journey was about to begin—with all the challenges and joys that came with it.
