Three months flew by, and Stephanie had settled into her role at Global Industries. The company's success was palpable, and the atmosphere buzzed with excitement.
One morning, Christopher walked into the office, a broad smile on his face.
"Stephanie, have you heard the news?" he asked, approaching her desk.
"What news?" she replied, curiosity piqued.
"We've landed the prestigious Global account! Tonight, we're celebrating with a party. Everyone's invited," Christopher announced.
Stephanie's eyes widened. "That's amazing! Congratulations!"
Christopher leaned against her desk. "I'd love for you to join us. You've been instrumental in our success."
"Thank you, sir. I wouldn't miss it," Stephanie said, smiling.
"Great! The party's at 7 PM at the rooftop lounge. I'll save you a spot," Christopher said, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Sounds perfect. What's the dress code?" Stephanie asked.
"Formal attire. You'll shine brightly, as always," Christopher replied, his gaze lingering.
Stephanie's cheeks flushed, but she maintained her composure.
"I'll make sure to dress accordingly," she said.
Christopher nodded. "I'm looking forward to seeing you tonight, Stephanie."
As he walked away, Stephanie felt a flutter in her chest. She pushed the feeling aside, attributing it to excitement for the party.
Later that evening, Stephanie arrived at the rooftop lounge, stunning in a black evening gown with shiny diamonds as jewellery and the black high heels too. Christopher's eyes locked onto hers, and he smiled, his expression warm.
"Stephanie, you look breathtaking," he said, offering his arm.Stephanie stepped into the lavish party, her confidence radiating as she mingled with Global Industries' elite. Christopher took her hand, guiding her through the crowd.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the driving force behind our latest success - Stephanie!" Christopher announced, his voice booming.
The room erupted in applause as Stephanie's face glowed with pride. Colleagues and clients alike congratulated her on securing the Smith account. As the music swelled, Christopher offered Stephanie a glass of wine. Their fingers touched, and she met his gaze with a captivating smile.
"To your triumph, Stephanie," Christopher toasted, his eyes locked on hers.
Stephanie sipped her wine, savoring the moment. The soft music and dim lighting created an intimate atmosphere.
Just as they were lost in each other's eyes, a rambunctious child darted through the crowd, colliding with Stephanie. The wine splashed onto her elegant dress, staining the silk.
"Oh my god, my new dress - all spoiled!" Stephanie exclaimed, laughing.
Christopher rushed to her side. "I'm so sorry, Stephanie. Are you okay?"
Stephanie's expression softened. "No need to apologize, sir. It's okay. It's just a small child; it's not his fault."
As Christopher helped Stephanie clean up the spill, their hands touched once more. The connection was undeniable.
Stephanie excused herself, navigating through the crowd to the washroom. The music and laughter faded as she stepped inside, enveloped by silence.
"Oh my goodness," she whispered to herself, staring at her reflection. "Why am I falling for him? He's handsome, charming... but I'm married."
