Henry
We shifted, running through the plains, the woods, through the creeks.
I made sure to watch her when she did that. I wasn't able to take my eyes off of her.
"You like what you see?" She asked as we huddled underneath a pine.
"I'd be lying if I said no."
Her thoughts raced, and so did her heat.
It was more than intoxicating.
I was drunk off of it...off of her.
Molly
I liked him watching me.
I couldn't get enough of my bully...
The disgusting feeling of that was dissipating. I couldn't control my emotions any longer and maybe that was because of my heat.
The warmth coursed through my veins and it was evident that Henry could feel it.
"I like what I see..." I said, shyly.
Henry didn't reply and I thought maybe I'd crossed a line, but he just took my hand and pulled me behind him once we shifted back.
"Drifters..."
"They don't seem to care.."
Henry scowled, "They're in a daze."
Henry
This wasn't something I saw every day.
It was as if a spell had been placed on them and they cared not for us.
"Just stay still. I can't lose you again."
"That's sweet."
"Well, I need an heir and you're my mate so no dying until you've had at least one pup."
"Oh, I hate you."
"Well, I don't hate you, Molly. Not that I ever did."
As the Drifters passed, we continued on in silence.
The cave seemed further away this time and I was worried we'd somehow taken the wrong way.
"Molly..."
"It's all different. We've been going in circles."
Molly
I didn't hesitate to tell him the next part.
"We have to figure this out because I'm ...forgetting."
"Forgetting what?!"
"Devin."
He frowned. We shifted back into our wolves and finally made it to the cave.
"Everything is still here," I said, "Except for the message."
Henry put his hand up as I heard a commotion behind me.
"Who goes there?"
"We know..."
"What the fuck?"Henry protected me with his body, shielding me from the little nymph that had appeared.
"What do you know?"
"We know..."
Henry stepped closer to the nymph, who made no attempt to move out of the way.
"Don't hurt her.."I begged, "She's in a trance."
Henry sighed, "Please..tell us. We need to know. Strange things are happening and we're scared something is happening to us. My mate's memory is fading."
He was just about to yank this small, annoying creature up by the ankles when they spoke again.
"Devin.."
"What about Devin?" I asked.
"Coming..." the nymph shuddered, "Hags....:
"Devin's on his way with the hags?!"
The nymph nodded and was suddenly scooped up by a satyr, much larger and very angry, but in a rage...a dazed rage.
"You need to leave...now."
"No," I said, "Is Devin here? Is he alive?"
The satyr scowled, "I've got no choice, mutt. You both have to die now. You never should have returned."
