Chapter 21: Normal I Guess

The rain was pouring down as the humidity level was high. A rumble of thunder clashed as you rolled over and looked out the window. You were residing on your couch watching tv. Well, you were paying no mind to it. You're dog Kyle came through the dog door, that leads to the backyard. He shook the water off and went to his water bowl for a drink. You looked away from him and stared outside. You looked at your driveway and sighed. You didn't have a car only a small scooter but you preferred to just walk everywhere since you lived close to town. You did miss having a car while it lasted. Well, you're ex-boyfriend since he was a car. Speaking of him you knew nothing of his whereabouts. You texted him a few times but they were all left on delivered. You called but straight to voice mail. Your phone buzzes next to you as you pick it up and see a message from Jack. You had asked him if K.O. Burgers was hiring. He had told you that they needed someone to work the windows in the morning. You needed a job since you had been living off what you're aunt was sending you. You wanted to support yourself and you needed money of your own. You read the message from Jack.

I told my boss that you were interested he said he'd like for you to come in and meet you. The applications are done on paper but he said he wanted to meet you first and give you the application. If that's okay with you he'd like you to come in tomorrow afternoon at 1. Well, I won't keep you. I need to get ready Arcee is coming to get me.

You simply replied with an okay. You sighed missing the days of having a transforming vehicle to drive you everywhere. Must be nice for Jack and of course Miko. You thought it was crazy when you found out about her and Bulkhead. You never really talked to the wreaker. You only spoke to Smokescreen who you became close to. That closeness was also the downfall of you and Knockout's relationship. Who would have known a Decepticon craved loyalty in his partners. I guess even villains want a loyal girlfriend. You flipped the channels and found yourself watching Spoungebob before you dozed off. The rain still pouring outside.

Around 3:20 pm you woke up to Kyle barking at the front door you narrow your eyes and look at the door. You sluggishly roll off the couch and shuffle to it. You grab Kyle by the collar and pulled him back carefully not wanting to choke him. You peeked through the door hole and saw someone on the porch. You blink twice and open it as a soaking wet Jack and Arcee in human form shove past you.

"Uh.." You said as Jack shook his hair some as the water hit Arcee in the face which he revied an annoyed look.

"What are you doing here?" You asked as Arcee looked at you.

"Just haven't seen you in a while. Smokescreen was worried and wanted me to come and see you along with Jack here."

"Oh, well tell him I'm fine." You walked back to the couch and sat down.

"(Y/N) are you okay? You hardly answer my texts and if you do it's in one-worded answers and you never pick up calls. Are you still on for the interview tomorrow to meet my manager?" Jack sat next to you as Arcee stood by the door looking around some.

"I will."

"Want me to come pick you up?" He asked referring to Arcee.

"I can walk." You glanced at her.

"It's going to be storming tomorrow." Arcee said as she looked worried.

"Fine. You two still got soaked driving here so it's not like I'll be any drier if I walked." You muttered.

"Oh, well if you insist it will at least be faster Arcee here is a lot faster than any of the Autobots."

"A lady's vital signs are her own Jack." She smirked at him as he cracked a smile.

"Heh."

You glared at the ground aggravated and missing having Knockout to drive you ironically everyone had a Cybortronian buddy but you. Jack pulled out a piece of paper as you cocked your head.

"Uh, Smokescreen wanted me to give you this." He held it out for you as you took it and unfolded the paper to show a phone number and an address which you confused about.

"Okay, thanks I guess."

"Jack we should get going Optimus needs me I just got a message from him." Arcee interrupted as Jack stood up.

"Alright. Bye (Y/N) text me some time I'm worried also we will be by tomorrow to pick you up so be ready and maybe wear a raincoat." You nodded and waved some as he headed towards the door where Arcee opened it and left first. The door closed behind them as you heard a loud bike outside. Jack hoped on and she zipped down the road.

You looked at the note again and read it.

I miss you...haven't heard from you in 2 months I know you said you needed time and space and I gave it to you. I just wish you would text me to let me know you're alright. Text this number if you ever wanna chat. And come to this address on Friday...it's important...like seriously please come.

You read the address realizing it was the race track. 'Does he really think I want to see him...he's the reason Knockout dumped me...' You rolled up the note and tossed it onto the coffee table as you rested your head on your head. You did miss him both of them, you denied it but you did have a lot of feelings for Smokescreen or maybe it was the loneliness so you latched onto him for comfort. Despite whatever the reason your curiosity got the best of you as you decided to hell with it.

"I guess I'll see you Friday Smokey.."
