You held the device in your hand, your palms becoming sweaty the harder you squeezed. You stared at the cooler id and froze not knowing to answer or let it go to voice mail. You sighed and answered anyway, if you'll regret that decision has yet to be decided. You leaned your back in the counter behind you and looked at the ground.

"Hello?" Nerves were killing you as you spoke softly.

"Sup, what are you doing?" That oh-so-familiar golden voice rang into your ear. It was as soothing as a cold shower on a hot day.

"Uh, nothing. Was gonna take a shower. Wasn't expecting you to call." You said as there was a pause for a moment.

"Oh, well I'm on the way to come get you. Someone wants to see you."

"Breakdown?" You raised a brow.

"No shit." He said slightly enthused.

"Can I get ready first because you'll be here in ten minutes and I won't have time." You asked as he sighed.

"Better hurry then." With that, the call dropped leaving you in a daze of emotions.

'He wants to come get me...? Breakdown could have just called if he wanted to talk to me...unless somethings wrong,'

A slew of thoughts raced through you as you rushed to the closet to throw some clothes on at least. You threw your hair in a messy bun and called it a day. You haven't talked to the mech one-on-one let alone hang out in months. It felt weird he seemed curious on the phone if not even a tad excited. You on the other hand were having a panic attack. Happy but scared shitless. You haven't heard from Breakdown either since Aracnid's attack. In some form of twisted fate, you hoped she would be shot down by Autobots or other cons by now. You sat in the living room by the window watching the road and listening for the roar of a loud motor getting closer. Not even a moment later revs could be heard in the distance as a flash of red popped over the hill and came to a spot in front of your house. Your phone rang as you answered.

"I'm here." He said as you grabbed your purse and walked towards the door.

"I know I heard you a mile away." You chuckle some as he hangs up.

You hesitantly walk over to the Astin Martin sporting a brand new finish. He looked like he just got a detail done before coming. You blushed wondering if he did it for you. The exhaust revs high as some people across the street notice and stop to get a picture of the car one of them looks up and traces his green eyes to you. You sigh, you had a history with Vince and even though you're on good terms you aren't friends but he wasn't what worried you. Knockout is.

"Hey, (Y/n) I thought you got rid of this car?" He walked up to you some as you shrug with a toothy smile.

"Uhhh, yeah my aunt's. She used it for a business trip."

"Wait so it's her car or yours?" He asked curious as he admired it.

"Her's, she just lets me...use it..yeah." You knew Knockout for sure was judging the execution of your little story.

"Damn, hey so I know we've had this talk and whatnot but maybe we could be for real friends. I'm not a bad person I just.. I don't know needed to be humbled. Ever since that fight I've done a lot of self-reflection and I don't know if the pain pills the hospital put me on did something to my mind but it mellowed me out. I was a real piece of shit and really had no respect for women but I do now. Like maybe we could start over and go for a ride or be actual friends, not just two people who have a bad past together and just coexist." He seemed honest but you had the thought that he just wanted an excuse to ride in Knockout.

The window rolled down scarring you and Vince as a redhead smirked and pulled his sunglasses down on his nose peeping his red eyes out from behind them and eyeing Vince. Even his human form looked different he looked more attractive.

"Aye, buddy, Vince is it. Yeah, I was here first and to answer your question good (Y/n) didn't tell the full truth. Her aunt sold me this fine automobile you see before you." He revved the motor up.

"Wait you're the fucker who almost killed me at that party," Vince growled. You grabbed his arm and looked at him sternly not wanting to see him splattered on the road if he pissed Knockout off enough. "I....um I like your car man I was just leaving." Vince said as you let him go.

"Bye, (Y/n)." He said as him and his friends carried on their way.

"I bet I did humble the little creep." Knockout bragged.

"Almost killing someone isn't humbling." You said realizing it was dumb to say as you got nervous when the passenger door swung open.

"I've been sitting here for 5 minutes get in." His halo form said as you did as told and shyly held yourself looking at the interior.

"So um what was so urgent you had to come here for?" You asked. You weren't to sure how this meeting would go but all seemed fine for now.

"Just wanted to talk." He sped up. His driving was more erratic as he cut it close to a few cars while passing. He didn't say much as the silence was killing you. You fiddled with your bracelet as you felt nerves rising in you. 'Is he going to do something to me?' You didn't want to say the wrong words. Smokescreen wasn't there to protect you this time. It was just you and him and he had all the power in the world right now.
