Chapter 24: You Again

You leaned against Breakdown, he felt cold on your back. You looked at his wounds and felt guilt in your chest even if there was nothing you could have done. He tilts his head and gives you a loving expression. You return it with a half smile he then adverts his eyes towards the blue and white mech walking over. Your smile fades as you really didn't know what to say to Smokescreen now.

"Hey, are you sure you're alright?" He asks as you nod some.

"I'm just shaken up nothing bad though. Thanks." The energy felt awkward, as much as you despised Smokescreen for everything that happened you couldn't put the blame all on him. Or even really hate him for anything. You sigh as the wind blew Breakdown was resting his helm on the rock behind him. You almost wanted Smokescreen to leave but enjoyed his looming presents. Out of your own curiosity, you wondered why he was even here still.

"Hey, Smokescreen if you don't mind me asking why didn't you ground bridge with Ratchet?" You asked as he seemed taken off guard.

"If I'm gonna be real with you it's because I didn't wanna leave you alone with him. Shouldn't you call for someone already?" He turned to Breakdown who opened his optics and huffed.

"Oh, that's nice of you but Breakdown and I are close he wouldn't hurt me." You understood why Smokescreen would be worried.

"Yes, yes, Autobot I know." Breakdown activated his comunit and asked for assistance.

"I've been injured pretty bad, uh the Autobots patched me up." He said to someone. "Yeah, it was her that called them. Alright yeah I need a ground bridge and you to bring crutches I can't walk on my own." Breakdown finished up as you listen you wondered what con Megatron was gonna send for his brute warrior.

A swooshing noise got everyone's attention as a ground bridge appeared moments later you watch as a bot walked through your eyes widened when you see who it was. Knockout appeared with his new flashy finish as he walked over and scanned Breakdown.

"You're lucky your alive a shot just missed your spark." Knockout stated as you just hid on the other side of Breakdown. Knockout glances up and he frowns deeply.

"You..." He mutters under his breath as Smokescreen stood there with defense all in his body language.

"You mother fucker." Knockout strides up to Smokescreen as he turns his servo into a blaster.

"Back down Knockout." Smokescreen said sternly holding his ground.

"Make me asshole!" Knockout yells as you step out.

"Knockout back off him!" You yell feeling your heart racing and your eyes becoming teary. It's been months since you've seen Knockout he looked the same if not better but his aggressive attitude really through you off guard.

"Holy shit. I knew you'd be around since you found Breakdown. Heh, and you're rolling with this bitch of an Autobot still. Damn (Y/n) really let your standers go. And you're also hanging with Breakdown which makes you; as you, humans say homies hopper."

"It's homie hopper, you, idiot. You know nothing of Earth's slang. And your calling (Y/n) a slut now so shut the fuck up before I mess up the pretty finish of yours." Smokescreen mocked him as he growled and turned his hand into a buzz saw and acted like he was gonna swing. Smokescreen jumped out of the way and kicked at Knockout who jumped and swung back landing a hit on Smokescreen causing him to fall to his knees he felt some energon running from his lips.

"I have more experience than you autobot don't tempt me. I'll make you a science experiment real quick." Knockout stood over Smokescreen he revved up his buzz saw hand and inched it closer to Smokescreen. You scream at him.

"Stop! Fuck off! You wanna know what happened Knockout! Me and Breakdown were attacked by some spider-looking con she did that to him and he would have died if I hadn't called Smokescreen and Ratchet. I'm the only reason your best friend and mine got the help you needed. Smokescreen only stayed to be watch out in case she returned. You should be thanking me!" You yelled anger and fear in your voice as you looked at the two mechs Knockout was silent for a tense moment before turning his hand back to normal and backing down. Smokescreen got up and stood behind you. He wiped the energon off his face plate.

"Fine...I believe you." Knockout said flatly. "Come on Breakdown let's get you to sick bay." He nods as he helps the big bot and wraps an arm around his waist and hoists him up as Breakdown leaned on him. A ground bridge appeared as you were fighting so many emotions this could be the last time you see Knockout or who knows maybe even Breakdown now. You couldn't take your heart beating out of your chest. Tears streamed down your cheeks you lock eyes with Smokescreen for a moment as he watches you dart your eyes over to Knockout getting closer to the bridge. Smokescreen almost knew what you were thinking; he shook his head but you ignored you ran towards the two cons and stood in between them and the ground bridge.

"No, you don't get to just try and fight my friend and walk away like we don't have fucking history here Knockout!" You looked into his red optics as they bore through you making you feel small but you fought back.

"I never would have known it would come to this after everything we've been through, you're gonna drag my name through the dirt and hate me like what the hell. I know what I did was bad but you never even took the time to talk to me about it or figure out the whole story. I thought you were gone Knockout or you hated me because that shape-shifter con pretended to be you. I know even though you came back and cleared everything up on your end I didn't on mine. I thought you hated me or were gone and I was so alone in that fucking base Smokescreen was the only one who cared about my mental health because I probably laid on that couch for two-week straight. That's how depressed I was I never knew it would get that deep with Smokescreen I mean come on with all the shit and trauma that had happened I needed someone and he was there. So shit just happened...I didn't know I was gonna see you again every bone in my body told me it was wrong...but I didn't know what to do...I knew I would have to pick one of you either way.." You sigh as you calmed down tears still forming in your eyes.

"Look I'm the one that made a move first not her. She never would have if I hadn't taken us so far. We never uh what's the word...slept together like...interfaced. I wanted to reach out to you personally but she told me not to since you needed your space. If you wanna blame someone for what happened blame me. I'm the slut not her." Smokescreen stood up for you as you're eyes widened you weren't expecting him to do that at all. You felt a flutter in your heart. You couldn't deny it but you did still have feelings for this mech. Knockout sighed and Breakdown listened.

"Fine, and uh (Y/n) sorry about calling you what I said. Thanks for saving Breakdown...Smokescreen." He looked at you with a lightened expression but he wasn't smiling.

"I'm sorry for everything Knockout really." You paused wiping the tears as they had mostly dried up.

"It's whatever. Miss understandings happen all the time in the life of a Decepticon. What did I expect you're a human after all...mistakes are sort of what makes your species." Knockout said as he positioned Breakdown some. "I need to get him to the ship. Good Bye (Y/n)." He walked around you as felt some relief that you stopped the fight and could at least talk to your former boyfriend. Knockout and Breakdown walk through the bridge as he looks at you one last time before going through he sent you a small half smile before the bridge closed. You're heart melted it was at least progress.

"So...what now?" Smokescreen said breaking you from your train of thought.

"I just want to go home really." You said as he nodded.

"Didn't you say there was an untapped energon mine in there?" He asked pointing towards the cave as you nodded.

"Yeah there is."

"I'll come back with the team later for it." He said as he looked around for a moment.

"Wanna ride home?" He seemed hesitant to ask.

"Yes, I do Smokey." His face plate heated up as he transformed and opened the door.

"Hop in." He reved as you jumped in as he sped off.
