{Dancing with the Stars}
Hollywood, California
September 17, 1981
Today is the premiere of Dancing with the Stars. Michael and River were in the ballroom practicing their routine for the last time before the show. They were going to be the last pair dancing tonight."Okay, that was good Michael," River said as she and Michael finished their last move.
"I never get nervous before performing but this has me nervous," Michael admitted.
"It's okay to be nervous Michael. These are the first dances of the season. This is new for everyone but it's also exciting." She reassured him. "I still get nervous every time I perform so I know how you're feeling."
"You never look nervous."
"Once I start dancing the nerves seem to go away. I want you to enjoy the moment. Don't be so hard on yourself when the judges score."
"I don't know..."
"Hey," She grabbed his hand. "No one gets tens on the first night. This is a learning experience for you. Whatever feedback they give you is to help you in the long run."
"You're a great teacher and I don't want to disappoint you."
"Michael you can never disappoint me. You're doing so well in rehearsal."
"Thanks, I'm trying." If she believed in him then he knew he could do this.
"Tonight I need you to give me everything you got okay?" He nodded. "I want you to be confident in the movements. If you look unsure the audience will know you're unsure."
"I got it Riv. I'll make sure I give it my all tonight." He smiled.
"That's what I like to hear."
"We're going to be the last couple to dance."
"That's good because we'll get to see what everyone else is working with. This will show us who we need to keep our eye on." Going last can take some of the pressure off the celebrities a bit.
"I know Marlon is going to be excited." He laughed. "He's probably the biggest competition I'll have for the season. He's been practicing his routine all over the house."
"You two will most likely be neck and neck. People love a sibling rivalry but it's all fun of course."
"It is"
"Do you feel comfortable with the costume?" She asked.
"Yes, it feels good. It's crazy that this is our last rehearsal and the premiere is tonight." He shook his head. "It seemed like time went so fast."
