Day 18.2 | N/E

"OH MY GOD, what?" Nadia's phone makes a loud thud as she sets her screen down on the table. Looking over her shoulder and seeing na si Kuya Rennie lang ang kumalabit sa kaniya, her heart rate tries to find its calm and slow down. Akala niya kung sino.

"Sorry po," she says in a lower volume, composing herself. She turns on her chair to face him properly. "Ano po 'yun?"

"Magpapaalam lang na bababa muna ako," says Kuya Rennie, jerking a thumb towards the door. Kumunot ang noo ng matanda sa kaniya. "Ayos ka lang?"

Nadia nods. She takes a deep breath and fans her face with her hand. Her cheeks are still burning up. "Opo. Sorry po. Mag-lunch na po kayo."

She turns back to her table and her lunch when Kuya Rennie leaves. Napainom siya ng tubig nang hindi pa rin tumitigil sa pagkalabog ang dibdib niya. She checks the screen of her phone for cracks dahil medyo malakas talaga ang pagkakataob niya roon kanina. Gosh. Nakakahiya. Thankfully, there are not a lot of people at Butter at this time, so there are less witnesses to her overreaction earlier.

Hindi niya alam kung sino ba ang inakala niya kaninang kumalabit sa kaniya, given that she's in the safety of Butter's premises. What she knows is that she's jumpy because she doesn't want to get caught red-handed.

She unlocks her phone to reveal the scene of the crime: Eli's social media profile. It's definitely not the best idea to cyberstalk him while she's in a public place, especially during her late lunch dahil hindi siya maka-focus sa kinakain niya. The Add Button has been inviting her to click on it since she unblocked his account several minutes ago.

They have never really made connections online. When she first knew him, all she had was his number she got from someone else, and feeling niya hindi naman sila super close to send him friend or follower request. And even since what happened in December last year—when she found her way to his car and later to his bedroom—they still kept it that way. She's fine with it. Besides, Eli doesn't seem to be online most of the time.

She thinks na baka gutom lang ang nagtutulak sa kaniyang pindutin iyong Add, given na nangangalahati pa lang siya sa lunch niyang lumamig na because she's too busy carefully scrolling back and forth from the latest to the oldest, very few publicly available posts on his profile. She just stops when she notices the time. She locks her phone, cleans up her table, and heads to the kitchen at the back. She's certain that it will eventually slip her mind before she even gets home. And if it doesn't, e di she would just do it—but she'll worry about it later when she has more time.

It does not, in fact, slips her mind.

She tosses and tumbles on her bed with her phone on her hand and her fingers careful not to click on button she does not mean to click. Yet. She hasn't even changed out of her clothes, and instead of doing that, she spends almost an hour just watching the unchanging user interface showing Eli's profile. Maaga pa naman siyang nagpaalam ng uwi ngayon, saying that she has something to do with her portfolio, pero hindi naman iyon ang inaatupag niya.

She gets off the bed and sits in front of her vanity. Why is she even overthinking this? She told herself that if her day has ended and she hasn't stopped thinking about it, gagawin na niya. Besides, what's the harm, right? They're friends, so what's the big deal on making it social media official? And she told him that they are friends. Hindi naman tinanggihan ni Eli ang offer na iyon. And if in case he doesn't want it, he can just simply ignore her request—sakali mang he bothers to go online and sift through his notifications.
