Sage was true to her words when she said she would cut back on hanging out with Iso, those meetups went from a couple times a week from no more than one time- which always seem to be on Tuesdays. You don't know why you noticed that day specifically but that's a different story-
The first week, Iso did look a bit like a lost puppy- he would often be found in the common room looking unsure what to do whenever he got turned down, either trying to find something to do on his phone or just looking around for something to do. In a way, it was a bit funny to see him thrown off track from it. Sage had mentioned that she felt a little bad- but still went along with it.
By the second week, Iso seem to have taken it a little bit better, not looking as lost as the first times. But he still didn't make the first step. You knew the whole point of this was for him to finally do a move- but the more you watched, the more you felt the need to step in yourself, give a little bit of a push on your end.
You still went to ask Sage if that was a good idea, not wanting to overstep since this seemed to be more of her plan- to which she was quite happy that you were willing to do a small step to help him. So you came up with an idea- and today, yet another day where he was looking a little lost in the common room, you decided to go see him first.
"Hey." You started with simple greetings, walking over to him with a small smile. Iso looked up at you, his usual unreadable expression just hinting a bit of confusion. "Hey.." He said back, and then quieting down and looking a little awkward. It almost look like he was trying to find something to say, his eyes then glancing around the room, seeing the other agents lounging and chatting about in the common room.
"Can we talk?" He finally added on, looking back at you. "Sure-what's up?" You said with a curious look, tilting your head a bit to the side. "I mean more of a private talk-" he said as he got up, looking at you then looking at the exit for the common room. You gave him a nod before following behind him, now very curious.
He hadn't taken a step forward in the past week, but now he needs to talk in private? It definitely was a bit odd- but you assume that maybe he didn't know how to start the conversation, and that might have been why he didn't talk to you before that.
He led you down the hall, heading towards one of the exits. This one gave on the backyard, a pretty large yard that had a walking trail that would head out to the nearby Woods. You followed behind him and he seemed to be taking that trail.
"So, what is it you wanted to talk about?" You decided to break the thin ice between you two, trying to throw him a perch so he could finally speak up. He stayed quiet a bit, it was obvious he was trying to think over his words and choose them wisely.
"I owe you an apology." He finally said as You two walked along the path that headed in the woods. You looked over at him, a bit surprised to hear him saying that. You didn't think he would apologize immediately- not that you were complaining though but still, it did take you a bit by surprise.
"I completely neglected you after we were set as a duo. I guess I just assumed since we work together..." He paused once again, once more trying to think over his words before shaking his head a bit. "I shouldn't have just ignored you- it wasn't on purpose, but I should have realized." He said, looking a bit like he was struggling to find the right words to say.
But you didn't mind, you were just happy to hear him say it-no matter how clumsy it was said or how uncertain it sounded. "Thank you." You said Softly, giving him a reassuring smile. "I'm glad you finally realized - it was becoming a bit exhausting trying to take the initiative on my end." You said, though the comment sounded a bit rough it wasn't meant to be mean.
