She opened her eyes as if she has only just fallen asleep.

She could not remember much of why her eyes were closed but what really got her confused was the white celling above her head. What had awoken her was a beeping sound in which felt like it vibrated against the walls of the room and down into her ears.

There was a bright light shining in her eyes as she woken and as soon as she opened her eyes, she shut them again. The light was too blinding for her liking and it hurt.

Now that she thought about it, there was this rough scratching within her throat in which irritated the hell out of her, it felt as if there was actual sandpaper rubbing against the inside of her throat.

She really wants a drink right now.

She began to move her hand when something prevented her to do so. She opened one eye, looking down towards her hand and then saw some wires or cable like materials attached to her hand and that's when she crossed and that's when she decided to breathe but she couldn't, as there is a tube in her mouth.

She than began to choke on the tube.

The next minute some hands went to her mouth as the tube had been removed from her mouth and her throat felt a little bit better, but still a bit scratchy.

"Miss Salvatore?" a soft, feminine voice called out to her.

Caroline confused of the voice, began to look for the voice to then see some unfamiliar faces along with familiar ones. Caroline's brows furrowed as she took in the appearances of everyone.

They all looked relieved yet shocked, she didn't know why.

"What happened?" Caroline asked, her voice hoarse. Then she touched her throat again. "May I have a drink, please?"

"Of course" the women in scrubs said, hurrying over to the side table to pour Caroline a cup of water. The women in scrubs walked over to Caroline, side-stepping many bodies as she made her way back to Caroline with straw for her. "Here"

Caroline took the cup greedily as she downed the water, curing the roughness of her sore throat. It felt like she has not had anything to drink in a while, which is odd if you ask her.

"Do you remember anything?" The nurse asked her patient, looking at the confused looking girl. Sometimes from coma patients, they tend to have temporary memory loss or it could be that the part of the brain that stores memories could be damaged or even the short-term memory store.

Caroline shook her head, "No, all I remember is coming to England" Just as she said that, her eyes widened as she looked around the room. "Where's my son?" she panicked, not knowing where her son is.

"I'm here Mama" the familiar voice she knew all too well called from the opposite side of the room she was currently in. Relief flooded through her at the little face of her angel came into her view, a huge smile on her lips as she looked at the small blonde boy.

"Nicky" Caroline cooed, her arms wide, awaiting her son to come to her so that she could hug her.

"Can I?" Nicolas asked the nurse, who in turn smiled and nodded for him to go to his mother in which the little boy didn't have to be told twice. The little boy ran into his mother's awaiting arms and buried his head into the croak of her neck, sighing in relief that he has his mother back.
