Gojo was overwhelmed by the stampede of creatures surrounding him. Every time the infinity barrier took a big hit, it would regenerate for a minute, increasing its energy consumption. Gojo threw each chaos creature into a different corner with a series of blows.
"Persistent little pests, aren't you?" he muttered, his tone laced with dry amusement. "Guess I'll have to clean up properly."
The creatures surged forward again, claws outstretched and teeth bared, but Gojo was already moving. With a flick of his wrist, the air around him warped as he activated Cursed Technique: Lapse — Blue. A swirling sphere of compressed energy burst forth, pulling the nearest creatures into its gravitational grip and crushing them into oblivion.
More creatures poured in to take their place, clawing at the shimmering barrier that protected him. Gojo dashed forward, his movements precise and calculated, striking down the chaos creatures with fluid grace. Each blow sent their twisted bodies spiraling into the distance
He leapt high into the air, spinning mid-flight to unleash another wave of Blue. The energy surged outward, pulling dozens of creatures into its grasp before detonating with a deafening crack. The resulting shockwave sent debris flying, carving a temporary reprieve in the sea of chaos.
Gojo was out of breath. Both using the blue technique and keeping the infinity barrier active were tiring him. "You don't know what it means to give up, do you, you damned creatures?"
It leapt into the air and spun mid-flight, releasing another wave of Blue. The energy surged outwards and engulfed dozens of creatures before exploding with a deafening crackle. The resulting shockwave sent debris flying.
Finally he fell to the ground. Things calmed down a little. But he knew he had pushed himself too hard. He tried to get up, but the more he tried to get up, the more he sank to the ground. Something was pulling Gojo from below...

Camellia whirled through the battlefield like a spinning top, her dual blades slicing through the chaos creatures with mechanical precision. Her movements were frenzied yet calculated, the steel catching the dim light as she spun faster and faster. With every turn, her laughter echoed across the field, wild and untamed, drowning out the guttural screams of the monstrous horde.
A few meters away, Geto stood amidst the carnage, his expression far more composed yet equally lethal. With a sharp gesture, he summoned a towering cursed spirit—a grotesque, Minotaur-like behemoth with horns that glinted like obsidian. The cursed spirit roared, stomping forward and scattering the creatures like leaves in a storm.
Geto's eyes darted to Camellia as he maintained control of his summoned beast. Her relentless spinning and laughter bordered on chaotic madness, and he felt a pang of unease. "Camellia!" he called out, his voice sharp, but she didn't respond. Instead, she let out another burst of laughter, her blades continuing their deadly dance.
Geto groaned, slapping a hand to his face. "Of course she's not listening," he muttered. Then, raising his voice, he shouted again: "Any more of this, and you'll overclock! Pull yourself together! We have to go down! Gojo's on his own, and we can't leave him!"
At the mention of Gojo's name, Camellia's spinning slowed slightly, and her laughter softened into a sly chuckle. "Gojo, huh?" she mused, her voice carrying an edge of mischief. "Fine. I'll clear us a path."
Without waiting for a reply, she turned her spinning blades toward the dark, gaping mouth of the cave. The sharp metallic sound of her weapons cutting through stone and debris filled the air as she carved a path through the cavern's narrow corridors. Shards of rock flew in all directions, but Camellia's determination didn't falter.
Behind her, Geto dismissed his cursed spirit with a wave of his hand, its massive form disintegrating into black mist. He followed her into the freshly carved path, the echo of chaos creatures behind them growing fainter with each step.
"Let's hope Gojo hasn't gotten himself into too much trouble," Geto muttered, though a flicker of worry passed through his eyes.
Camellia grinned over her shoulder, her pace quickening. "Don't worry, he'll cope."

"Hey, wake up."
Gojo stirred, his senses sluggish as he tried to pinpoint the voice. It echoed faintly, as though coming from all directions at once. Slowly sitting up, he blinked against the dim glow surrounding him. The air was thick, heavy with an unsettling energy.
He looked around, realizing he must have reached the deepest part of the cave. The oppressive darkness weighed on him, but ahead, a faint light flickered like a beacon. Without hesitation, he pushed himself to his feet and began moving toward it.
The light led him into a massive chamber, its sheer size making his footsteps seem insignificant. The room was unnervingly still, but there was a presence—one that made his instincts bristle. The space resembled an ancient ritual site: nine towering pillars encircled a raised square platform in the center, each pillar inscribed with symbols pulsating faintly in the dim light.
At the center, behind a black throne, stood a man. His stark white hair gleamed under the faint light, and a katana rested casually against his shoulder. He exuded an aura that was both regal and dangerous.
As Gojo stepped closer, the man lifted his head, his voice cutting through the silence with commanding clarity.
"So," he began, his tone sharp and disdainful, "do you chaos hunters really think you can kill us?"
Gojo froze. This wasn't a chaos creature. It wasn't grotesque or monstrous. It was human—or at least something close enough to it. For the first time, he found himself staring at a talking figure amidst this madness.
"Who are you?" Gojo asked, his voice steady but cautious.
The man's lips curled into a faint smirk. "My name is Vergil. But introductions are pointless." He shifted slightly, gripping his katana with a slow, deliberate motion. "I'd rather fight than waste time talking to a rookie."
Gojo narrowed his eyes, studying Vergil. The air grew thick with tension as Vergil unsheathed his blade, its edge catching the faint light. Gojo tensed, every nerve on high alert.
And then—Vergil vanished.
Gojo barely had time to react before Vergil reappeared next to him, his movements so fast they seemed to defy logic. The katana struck with precision, slamming against the Infinity Barrier. The impact sent shockwaves reverberating through the air, and Gojo staggered slightly, feeling the strain of the blow resonate through his barrier.
Vergil stepped back, his gaze sharp with curiosity. He glanced at his katana, then back at Gojo. A small, amused smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Interesting..."
Gojo's mind raced. The katana had nearly pierced the barrier—an impossibility until now. He realized the danger instantly: if Vergil figured out the barrier's regeneration delay, he wouldn't hesitate to exploit it. And Gojo knew all too well that a single mistake here would mean the end.
Gojo thought that if Vergil realized for a minute that he didn't have an infinity barrier, it would be the end of him, so he had to act.
