Cold Open:

Scene opens in Johnny and Tophia's apartment, a mix of cluttered chaos and surprisinglycomfortable moments. Johnny is sitting on the couch, eating cereal straight out of the box, whileTophia sits cross-legged on the floor, her laptop open as she sets up a podcast recording.

Tophia: (frustrated) Okay, Johnny, we need to get our podcast off the ground. We're calling it"The Ex-Files," and this week's topic is... (pauses dramatically) our annulled marriage.

Johnny: (grinning) Oh, no problem! I mean, who wouldn't want to hear about the biggest jokein both of our lives?

Tophia: (nodding) Exactly! A failed marriage and a legally binding decision that still confusesour families.

Johnny: (laughs) Seriously, though—what kind of annulment says, "You weren't really married, but we'll still let you keep your wedding gifts"? Thats a weird flex from the government.

(Cutaway to: A "flashback" montage of Johnny and Tophia's very short marriage—awkwardwedding vows, them exchanging rings with no emotional connection, and a disastrous receptionwhere they both accidentally tried to kiss each other on the cheek at the same time, causing afull-on collision.)

Johnny (V.O.): (mocking) I do lasted about as long as Tophia's hot dog at a Fourth of July picnic.

Opening Credits:

(Quick, upbeat montage of Johnny and Tophia's most ridiculous moments—running from aconfused crowd at a wedding, dancing badly in a club, trying to start a band, and playing tug-of-war with their refrigerator shelf.)

Scene 1:

Johnny and Tophia's apartment, but this time, Tophia's looking unusually serious. She's dresseda bit more formally, holding a business card and dialing her phone.

Tophia: (to Johnny, quietly) So, I'm hiring a lawyer.

Johnny: (nonchalant, eating chips) Oh? You're going to fight for my fridge shelf?

Tophia: (seriously) Yes, Johnny. Its my shelf now. My lawyer is going to make sure you don'tcome near it anymore.

Johnny: (mocking, pretending to be a lawyer) "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I herebypresent the case for the rights of the cheese drawer."

(Cutaway to: Tophia talking to her lawyer on the phone, looking very serious as she scribblesnotes on a legal pad.)

Lawyer: (on phone) So, to clarify, you want me to represent you in a dispute over... a fridgeshelf... that you didn't buy?

Tophia: (nodding seriously) Yes. I'm also suing for emotional distress. I tried to eat my lunch, and Johnny's leftover spaghetti was in the way.

Johnny (V.O.): (in a dramatic narrator voice) The spaghetti, they say, was a metaphor for thecrumbling of their trust.
