It's been years
Since I've seen your face;
But I bet if you were here,
It would be like nothing has changed.
The times we had, were some
Of the best in my life.
Recently, I find myself wishing
I could go back to that time.
Back to feeling
The warmth of your touch.
Being in your arms...
I miss that so much.
I felt protected.
For once, I felt safe.
I still remember all this
Just like it was yesterday.
When it gets tough, in my mind,
I go back to being with you.
I pretend that we get to
Have the future we never got to.
Then as crazy as it seems,
It feels so right to me,
But then I wake up;
And come back to my reality.
If there's ever a day
I break free from this cage,
I'll make my way back to you.
You'll be my great escape.
