The Next Morning:

Y/N sat at her desk, reviewing the latest reports and trying to ignore the fluttering sensation in her chest. The feeling was becoming more persistent, creeping up every time she saw Jungkook. She had tried to shake it off as nothing more than nerves, but it was harder now. With each passing day, their dynamic was shifting—more than she wanted to admit.

As she organized the files, the sound of approaching footsteps broke her concentration. Looking up, she saw him again—Jungkook, standing tall, his gaze fixed on her. That familiar intensity in his eyes made her heart race, but this time, there was something different about his presence.

Jungkook - “Y/N, I need you to handle a few things for me today. We have a new client meeting in the afternoon. Make sure everything is set.”

Y/N - “Of course, sir. I’ll take care of it.”

Her voice was calm, but inside, her heart was in turmoil. She could feel the tension between them, that unspoken connection, and it made her feel dizzy. But just as she was about to dive back into work, a familiar voice echoed in the hallway.

---

Enter Yeong Ja:

Yeong Ja - “Jungkook! Over here!”

Y/N turned her head to see a woman walk into the office. She was tall, confident, with an easy smile that seemed to light up the room. She was dressed in a stylish yet professional outfit, exuding a presence that demanded attention. Yeong Ja.

Yeong Ja was someone Y/N had heard of before, but never met in person. She had been a close friend of Jungkook’s for years, someone he had known long before Y/N ever started working at the company. Yeong Ja was beautiful, with a kind of effortless charm that drew people to her. There was no denying that she was a woman with power—just like Jungkook.

Yeong Ja - “I didn’t expect to see you here today. How have you been?”

She said it with such warmth, her voice full of affection, as if she and Jungkook were long-time friends—close, almost too close. Y/N couldn’t help but feel a pang of something deep within her, though she couldn’t quite place what it was.

Jungkook - “I’m doing well, as always. You’re looking great, as usual.”

His words were casual, but there was a soft, almost familiar tone in his voice when he spoke to her, something that made Y/N's chest tighten with a feeling she couldn’t ignore.

As the day went on, Y/N found herself trying to focus on her tasks, but her mind kept drifting back to Jungkook and Yeong Ja. Every time she passed by them, they seemed to be in their own world—laughing, talking, exchanging knowing glances that didn’t escape her notice.

At one point, Y/N passed the office lounge, only to see them together by the coffee machine. Jungkook was holding a cup, casually talking to Yeong Ja, while she leaned slightly closer, her hand brushing against his as she reached for the sugar.

It was a small, seemingly innocent gesture, but it hit Y/N harder than she expected. She felt something tighten in her chest, the jealousy coursing through her veins like a wildfire. She quickly turned away, her heartbeat hammering in her ears.

Was she really feeling this way over a simple interaction?

Later That Afternoon:

The meeting was approaching, and Y/N was finishing the last-minute preparations when Yeong Ja appeared at her desk, her smile as warm as ever.

Yeong Ja - “Hey, Y/N! Jungkook told me you’re handling everything for the meeting today. You’re a lifesaver.”

Y/N managed a polite smile, but her stomach twisted. Yeong Ja’s presence felt like a weight on her chest, and her words, though friendly, seemed laced with an unspoken familiarity that she wasn’t sure she was comfortable with.

Y/N - “It’s nothing, really. I’m just doing my job.”

Yeong Ja - “Well, you’re doing a great job. Jungkook is lucky to have you around.”

Her words, while complimentary, stung in a way Y/N couldn’t explain. The way she said "Jungkook"—so effortlessly, as if they were more than just friends—made something twist uncomfortably in Y/N’s stomach.

She looked up, and Yeong Ja was still smiling, oblivious to the internal battle Y/N was fighting. But Y/N couldn’t ignore the pang of jealousy that gnawed at her. Was it just because Yeong Ja was beautiful, or was it something deeper?

As the meeting began, Y/N felt her nerves return, especially as she watched Jungkook interact with Yeong Ja. Their conversation flowed easily, as if they had known each other forever. The way they spoke, the soft laughter, the shared looks—it was all so natural, so comfortable.

And Y/N? She felt like an outsider in her own skin.

Her eyes would dart between the two of them, her stomach twisting with every passing moment. The way Yeong Ja would lean in just a little closer to Jungkook as they discussed the presentation details. The way Jungkook would glance at her with a smile that wasn’t quite as reserved as the ones he gave Y/N.

Yeong Ja - “Jungkook, you know I’ve always said your ideas are brilliant. You never disappoint.”

Jungkook - “You flatter me.”

His voice was warm, and his smile genuine. But to Y/N, it felt like a punch to the gut. Why was she feeling like this?

She tried to focus on the presentation, but every glance she stole at them only deepened her confusion. Was she really... jealous? Or was this just something else—something she could easily brush off?

The Evening:

As the meeting finally ended, Y/N couldn’t shake the feeling that had been growing inside her all day. She had stayed quiet, pretending to be engrossed in the work around her, but her mind kept drifting back to Yeong Ja and Jungkook.

Yeong Ja had left for the evening, leaving Y/N alone with Jungkook, but even now, the tension hadn’t dissipated. The air between them felt thick with unspoken emotions, and Y/N couldn’t figure out if she was imagining things or if there was something more going on.

Jungkook - “Y/N, you did well today.”

His words were kind, but there was something in the way he said them that made her feel exposed. Like he knew she was struggling with something—something that wasn’t just work-related.

Y/N - “Thank you, sir.”

Her voice was barely a whisper, her heart racing again. She couldn’t quite place it, but everything about the day had left her feeling... unsettled. Was it just the nerves of the job? Or was it something else?

She glanced at Jungkook, who was busy reviewing the final notes from the meeting, and her mind went back to Yeong Ja. Was this jealousy?

But as Y/N stood there, trying to breathe through the storm of emotions, she still wasn’t sure.
