Y/N walked into Jungkook’s office, her hand clasping the documents she had promised to deliver. It was already late, and she knew she should’ve left by now, but she couldn't ignore her responsibility. She couldn’t help but feel a little flustered at the thought of what awaited her the next day—a blind date arranged by her mother. She wasn't sure what to expect, but she had to go, or else her mom would be furious.

As she entered the office, she was greeted by Jungkook's gaze, which softened when he saw her.

Jungkook - “Y/N, I didn’t expect you to still be here. What’s this?”

He gestured toward the documents in her hand. But it wasn’t the papers he was focused on. He noticed the way she was fidgeting with her phone, the slight hesitance in her steps.

Y/N - “Just some documents for tomorrow’s meeting, sir.”

Jungkook - “Good. But... you’re not leaving, are you?”

Y/N’s eyes flickered up to him, surprised. She hadn’t expected him to stop her from going, but something about his tone made her pause.

Y/N - “I… I was planning to head home. I have something to do tomorrow morning.”

Jungkook raised an eyebrow, his gaze narrowing slightly, his mind racing with an unfamiliar emotion. The idea of her going on a date with someone else, someone she’d probably be spending time with—well, it made him feel… uneasy. It wasn’t like him to feel that way, and yet, here he was.

Jungkook - “You know, we have that meeting in the morning. It’s quite crucial, and I think it would be better if we prepared tonight. Don’t you agree?”

Y/N blinked, surprised by his insistence. She hadn’t expected him to push it this much. Usually, he was all about efficiency, but now, he seemed to be holding her back for something more.

Y/N - “I’m sure we’ll be fine. The meeting isn’t until after lunch.”

Jungkook - “I’d prefer to be fully prepared. You know how much I value precision.”

His words were cold, but she could see the faint tension in his jaw. He wasn’t looking at her the same way he usually did, and that caught her attention. There was something different—an almost urgent desperation to his words.

She hesitated.

Y/N - “But... I really should get going, sir. My mom would be upset if I didn’t go.”

Her voice softened as she looked down at her phone, her thumb nervously tapping against the screen. She had to get to the date. It was already arranged, and she couldn’t back out now. She didn’t want to disappoint her mom.

Jungkook - “Your mom?”

His voice held a tone she couldn’t quite place—was it irritation? Concern? He quickly masked it, but there was no hiding the subtle change in his demeanor.

Jungkook - “This date... can’t you cancel it? This meeting is really important, Y/N. I need your full attention. I’ll be honest, I think it’ll be too much to handle everything in one day if you leave now.”

Y/N blinked, taken aback. She wasn’t sure what to make of his words. This wasn’t like him. Was he truly concerned about the meeting? Or was there something else?

Y/N - “Sir, I—”

Before she could finish, Jungkook stood up from his desk, walking toward her with a sense of urgency that almost startled her. His eyes, usually calm and collected, seemed different now—darker, more intense.

Jungkook - “Please, Y/N. I know you want to leave, but the meeting is too important. I’d rather not be caught unprepared, and I need you here with me.”

His words lingered in the air, and something about the way he said them made her heart race. Why was he so determined? Why did it feel like there was more to his insistence than just business?

Y/N bit her lip, her mind spinning. She had already agreed to go on this blind date, but now, something about Jungkook’s tone had her second-guessing her decision. The way he was looking at her, with that intensity... Was it really just about the meeting?

She shook her head, trying to dismiss the fluttering feeling in her chest.

Y/N - “I... I really should go, sir.”

Jungkook’s eyes darkened, and he stepped closer to her, just enough to invade her personal space. She could feel the warmth of his presence, the tension between them thickening.

Jungkook - “I’m not asking you to cancel, Y/N. But I am asking you to stay. For me. Just for tonight.”

His voice was low, almost like a plea, and that made her heart skip a beat. What was happening? Why was he asking her to stay so desperately?

There was a brief pause as Y/N looked up at him, her mind conflicted. Her mother’s voice echoed in her head, reminding her of the importance of the blind date, of the promise she had made. But... there was something about Jungkook’s presence that made her heart thump louder. Something in the air felt different tonight.

Y/N - “But I... I promised my mom...”

She trailed off, unsure. Jungkook, however, wasn’t giving up.

Jungkook - “It’s important to me that you stay. Just for tonight. We’ll finish the meeting prep, and I’ll make sure everything is ready for tomorrow. Then you can leave whenever you’re ready. But please... just stay.”

His hand brushed against hers as he reached for the papers she had brought him, and that simple touch sent a jolt of electricity through her body. The intensity in his eyes was undeniable now, and it hit her all at once—Jungkook wasn’t just worried about the meeting. There was something else in his gaze.

He was stopping her from going because he didn’t want her to go on that blind date. And deep down, she knew why.

Y/N paused for a moment, the weight of the decision settling on her shoulders. Jungkook was still holding her gaze, his hand resting casually on the table, but there was an unmistakable tension in the air. It was like everything in her life had led to this moment.

Y/N - “Okay, I’ll stay. Just for tonight.”

Her words were quiet, but they held a finality to them. She wasn’t sure why she had agreed, but something about Jungkook’s presence, his insistence, had shifted something inside her. Maybe it was the look in his eyes, or maybe it was the way he cared—she didn’t know for sure.

But as she stayed, deep inside, she couldn’t help but wonder—had he really been worried about the meeting? Or had it been something else entirely?
