THE night is late, the city's glow casting a soft light through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the hotel. the hum of traffic below is a distant soundtrack as olive shifts uncomfortably in the bed, her arms crossed over her chest. dylan is beside her, sprawled out with his arm draped casually across the back of the headboard, but his attention is all on her.
"so..." dylan starts, his voice low and steady, a playful edge creeping into his words. "you and zayn, huh?"
olive's breath catches. she doesn't know how to react—she didn't come here to talk about him, but dylan's not letting it slide. his fingers play absentmindedly with the edge of his t-shirt, but his eyes are sharp, locked onto hers. "what about it?" she asks, trying to sound casual, but she can feel her pulse picking up. "that was ages ago."
"yeah," dylan replies, his tone thick with curiosity. "but you guys had a thing, didn't you? i mean, you don't just get over someone like that, right?"
she shifts on the bed, adjusting the blanket over her legs. she doesn't want to talk about zayn- especially not tonight. but dylan isn't backing down. his eyes are burning with the need to know more, and she can tell he's not going to stop until he gets answers.
