CHAPTER FOUR-TOO STRONG

"Aro. What's my task?" Maddy said everyday and enjoyed the thrill of finding the unfindable. The  look of confusion facing a look of satisfaction was unmatchable the looks of defeat versus the look of smugness on two faces facing each other as their chains echoed throughout the hall bringing them all in. She was with the Volturi until 1960. Everything was paradise and felt she found her purpose. Until a day that changed it all. Death kissed Maddy leaving her with a knowing of her boundaries and emotional scars she carried forever.

It was the year 1960 and just after the new year Maddy became more and more comfortable living with the Volturi. "Maddison. We have a harder task today." Aro handed her the bag containing all the things she needed. "She is making immortal children. I have never had someone committ that crime for how long has she been going for.' Aro smiles 'she's been on watch for a hundred years. We owed her a favour after she helped us and she used the favour in pardoning her life in after us killing her illegal children. But she didn't realise we still keep tabs on her and she has created another child. Unfortunately she's hiding with the Illegal immortal and we need to find them. However she is powerful. When i used my gift on her it felt like i was going to break so go carefully dear." Maddy let out a shaky sigh and started her ritual as the others in the room watched seriously. Maddy delved into her mind and not long until finding her was easy. "She's-she's-' Maddy tremors this time it's different and scarier 'forest-Canadian boreal. She has the child with her. Hiding him. So many dead.' Maddy takes in a big breath 'she's-she's not letting me go." Cracks erupt from Maddy's hands which hold the objects up and they spread to her head and around her entire body the items clatter on the floor and Maddy falls back hitting her head on the hard floor. Aro takes her hand confirming what she saw telling the others the objects must be cursed then got a guard to place her back on the bed carelessly.

Maddy awoke and looked around to see she had been chucked on her bed and whilst staggering up she saw her reflection. Thin cracks still present all over her face like a broken porcelain doll. Maddy winced touching the cracks despite the physical pain not being there she could still feel the thousand fires all burning her. She walked downstairs and entered the main room. Aro nodded as screaming was heard. Two people were brought in. Damn i must have been out a while Maddy thinks. The woman comes up shouting curse words at Maddy and then leads in her son. Aro smiles "you took this young boy from an orphanage i presume." The quiet boy was almost as strong as Felix as he fights against his chains. The woman was turned around her chains clacking facing her son. Jane stands behind him and rips off his head. An instinctual scream echoes through the room as she was killed too. Maddy went back to her room the cracks still not fully gone and cried. She started questioning wether she wanted this now. She didnt know the consequences. She could have died. The talk with Aro was long and scary and the cracks in her face were gone but still could feel them. Suprisingly he took it well. He let her go. He admitted he shouldn't have let Maddy undergo the ritual knowing the dangers. So that left Maddy finding her new destiny.

She travelled from country to country but nothing fitted and nothing felt right. She wanted to run back to the Volturi but knows they dont care about her health just the powers she has. During the seven years on her own she wanted to be more inconspicuous and started drinking animal blood at first it felt like torture everything hurt but she slowly got used to it from when she did it before joking the Volturi after starting after Henry died. Relentlessly she would expose herself to human blood allowing the frenzie to take over her then nipping it in the bud before biting anyone. It worked. She started craving human blood less and less when drinking animal blood and began to adapt to her new lifestyle again.

Then in 1967 she reached London. She dared not go back to Kent but stayed here for a while and a few sobs after her hundredth birthday alone left her sitting on top of a building her legs dangling over the edge watching the humans live unaware of the existence of vampires. "Hey. What are you doing up here?' Maddy hadn't spoken to anyone for so long it startled her and kept quiet focusing on the world below 'not much of a talker huh? I'm Alex Cullen whats your name?".
