Agent Tucker's partner, Agent Jones, came to her house with Starbucks coffee. When he rang the doorbell, Tucker didn't answer, but he noticed the door was unlocked. As he walked in, he found her where she usually was. She had a clue board in her living room riddled with photos and notes connected with thumbtacks and strands of colored string. Most of the images were of Lincoln Loud and members of his family. Tucker was sleeping in her armchair, snoring.
Jones nudged her, "Wake up!"
She startled and woke up with wide eyes.
"Jesus Christ," Tucker groaned while rubbing her eyes, "How'd you get in my house?"
"Your front door was unlocked . . . again," Jones answered.
"Ah, shit."
He handed her the coffee and looked at the board.
"I don't understand your obsession with this. It's over. The case is closed. What are you hoping to find?" Jones asked.
Agent Tucker got up after taking a long sip of coffee, "I'm telling you, something is going on with all this. Doesn't it strike you odd? One moment, they're a broken family, and the next thing you know, they're at the top of the world. From abuse victim to celebrity."
"Yeah, they won the lottery – literally. So, good for them."
"You're not hearing me. What are the odds that they just happened to win 20 million dollars and Lincoln became a hero?" Tucker asked, shaking her head and turning back to the board, "I think it was somehow staged."
"We already investigated, and you saw the evidence. The truck that almost ran Leni over happened because the driver had a stroke, which triggered his seizure. His foot was lodged on the accelerator pedal, and he could not steer or stop. The gators broke out of their cages due to irresponsibility in properly securing the cage doors, and Lynn Sr.'s motorcycle went too high, hitting his head and falling off his bike. Thus causing that accident. Lincoln got there first because he went down there to try and talk his dad out of it," Agent Jones pointed out and explained.
"Yeah, but how? How did Lincoln know that truck was coming? How did you see it coming from the mall windows? How did he just happen to be near the port-a-johns to grab the weapons to kill the gators? How did he know his sisters were in danger? How did he know Leni was out there on the road or Lana was still in the ring?" Jones questioned.
Jones looked away and signed while rolling his eyes.
"And what about these strange events that have been happening? The bridge blowing up, the burned down warehouse with all those men inside, and these guys that got killed in the alleyway with no evidence left behind. You're telling me they just died by getting struck by lightning in an alleyway? And it just happened right when Lynn Jr. ran away from home? And Lincoln just happened to be at the park on the same night this girl, Taylor, ran away from her abusive family? I'm telling you! It's all connected somehow!" Tucker stated.
Jones asked her, "What are you hoping to find at the end of all this?"
Tucker looked back at the board and crossed her arms, "There's something going on. I feel it. I know it in my gut."
Jones let out a sigh, "Well . . . it's going to have to end. The boss wants you back. We have other cases. Seriously, I need my partner back."
After a long moment of silence, Tucker muttered, "Fine. I'll be back next week."
"Good."
After he left and closed the door, Tucker tied her brown straight hair in a ponytail with her bangs out. She went back to her office room. On the desk table was a mechanical bracelet that was slightly burnt that she found from the burned-down warehouse off of a dead skeleton. Tucker grabbed her tools and tried again to repair it, but it was complex. However, after a few hours of adjusting wires, cleaning out areas, and reconnecting loose cords, a blue light came on as it powered up.
