34. Be patient

Author's POV 

Umaiyazh inhaled deeply, gazed at him,

"She wanted me to marry you," she declared.

"I know"

he admitted.....

"Did she tell you about me?"

"Hmm... she told me she liked you and brings up my marriage topic every day, so I didn't take it seriously. I knew she wanted me to marry because she always talked about it, but at that time, I only cared about her health. You were the last girl she spoke of, and she was more persistent about it than with others. From that, I knew one thing clearly, She liked you too much but I also knew it was impossible. After I lost her, I never thought of marrying you; it seemed too ambitious, and even now, I can hardly believe it's really happening... I mean, everything happened so suddenly."

Bairavan said, Umaiyazh took a deep breath

"Don't you want to marry me now??"

She asked and Bairavan shook his head

"I want to marry you and I have no problem with that...and you are not getting what I mean.....I think you would never"

Bairavan declared with a sigh, Umaiyazh furrowed

"what does that mean now?"

She raised her voice and climbed out of bed, poised for an argument. Bairavan gave her a pointed look, knowing that a blunt response would only escalate the situation, so he chose to let it go rather than seek a resolution.

"I simply meant that our views and opinions on marriage differ; it will take some time for both of us to understand each other and find common ground......that's it and you don't pile up....it's late you sleep here I will move to next room okay"

She wasn't entirely convinced, but she chose to let it go because so much had happened in one day, and she didn't want to spoil her good mood.

"That's fine. I've given Maaran a missed call; he should be here soon, and then I'll head home. If my mother finds out I stayed with you tonight, she'll start drama again, and I don't want that. You too need some rest since you have to go to the station tomorrow. You sleep; I'll wait in the hall until Maaran arrives."

Umaiyazh spoke and then left the room for the hall, with him following behind, aware that she was upset. She settled on the sofa, and he stood before her as she looked up.

"I will wait with you.....I am not sleepy."

"hmm"

She just hummed in response, He sat beside her and after a brief pause he spoke

"I am sorry Umai....I didn't mean to upset you"

"I understand, that's fine. Anyway, I don't want anything to spoil my happy mood, so I won't dwell on those particular words of yours right now."

She said before he speak they heard the horn

"I think he is here"

Umaiyazh emerged with Bairavan just as Maaran entered, opening the gate. He was dressed in a t-shirt and track pants, his hair disheveled, appearing as though he was still half-asleep. Umaiyazh approached him and smoothed his hair with her fingers.

"Ena daa pathi Thookathula irukiya"

(What da are you still in sleep mode)

Maaran yawned in response and nodded his head up and down lazily

"Etheyy..... Adei ena....ena kolla plan podriya...thokathula ethulaiyachu poi vandiya vita ena panuvein nanu...Ipo tha da en marriage correct route la poguthu athula oru lorry manna alli kotiratha"

(Whattt......are you planning to kill me or what?.... If you drove half asleep and let the car crash into anything then what would I do....finally, I am getting married and don't put a load of sand in my dreams)

"Ama vera vela vetti ila paru enaku.....avlo bayam iruka intha pudi nee vandiya ottu nan thoongitu varen.....early morning enaku meeting iruku unala cancel pana meeting tha atha reschedule paniruku......morning late agi ila naa thoongi cancel panita Yuva thirumba mala eriduva so over argument panama vaa vandiya oottu vetuku polam enaku thookam sookuthu....etachu solanumna like bye good night mams kita solitu vaa naa vandila poi thoongurein"

(Yeah, I have nothing else to do right now... If you're so concerned, then take this key and you drive; I'll sleep... I have an early morning meeting, the same one I cancelled today because of you... it's been rescheduled... If I oversleep or cancel it again, Yuva will be furious, so let's not argue... You drive, I'm sleepy... If you want to say goodbye and goodnight to mams, do it and come; I'm heading back to the car to continue my sleep.)

Maaran yawned and placed the key in her palm. Umaiyazh glared at him.

"Dei enaku purila Nee avaluku boss ah ila Ava un boss ahh......"

(Dei...I don't understand; are you her boss, or is she yours? )

"Both....and my condolences to you, ACP sir...opps mams..... You have to handle this pampered creature from Revathi Illam... and please be aware, she always wants things done immediately, just like that, according to her wishes, and only reflects on it after the fact... so, all the best, and apologies on behalf of Revathi Illam, because she is like that due to us. "

Maaran spoke the truth and bowed a little only to get a slap on his back from his aunt who was glaring at him...

"Ouchh......Thanks for reminding me Athaiyare....Maams she is a bit violent too so be ready for that as well"

Maaran grunted as he received another punch on his shoulder. Bairavan chuckled, recalling the scene in the station where he had witnessed their quarrel and had mistakenly thought they were lovers.

"Thanks for the Disclaimer Maaran"

"You are welcome maams"

Umaiyazh glared at them both and, with a stomp of her feet, she headed towards the car. The men chuckled and shook their heads. Maaran took a deep breath, turned to Bairavan,

"I understand she can be a handful at times and make decisions hastily, but she's quite sensitive and gets hurt easily, especially by those she loves. So please, don't hurt her and bear with her tantrums until she settles into her new life. Once she learns and adapts, she will be willing to change. Until then, please be patient with her."

Maaran requested him and that itself showed how much he is concerned and cared about Umaiyazh, Bairavan smiled and nodded his head assuring him that he would take good care of his aunt......

"Thank you"

Maaran spoke, and before the man could say more, they heard a horn, and Umaiyazh shouted.

"Deii Marumaganee variya ila ingaiye thoongura ideava....kalaila aparam Yuvathi ah anupuvendi varum una pick up pana"

(Dei son-in-law are you coming or planning to sleep here.....if yes then I will have to send Yuvathi tomorrow morning to pick you up )

Bairavan and Maaran exchanged smiles and shook their heads before Maaran departed to join her in the car of course to continue his beauty sleep despite of his aunt's bickering

I know noone even cared about target... I get it....

Anyway still I updating this chapter today itself as tomorrow is special day and I surely don't want the disappointment you guys going to give me so... Again go ahead not carring about the targets.... Anyway I am updating in scroll stack unlike other stories I am slowly letting go...

I think if I will be strict on this target I will complete Bairavanin Kadhali in scrollstack and will move to Ragasiyamai....
