The next day started with an ominous crash echoing through the Morningstar mansion. Lucifer’s shouts followed soon after, a blend of anger, frustration, and grief reverberating through the halls.

Lilith stood by the door, her expression tense as another loud crash signaled a shattered object. “Alright,” she said firmly, turning to the girls. “We’re going out.”

Arabelle tilted her head. “Out? Like… outside?”

“Yes, out. Grab your coats.”

Charlie clapped her hands in excitement. “Ooh! Can we get ice cream?”

Lilith gave her youngest daughter a small smile but didn’t answer as she quickly ushered them and Octavia out of the mansion, leaving Lucifer to his chaos.

The streets of Pentagram City were bustling with sinners, demons, and everything in between. Despite the usual chaos of the city, the appearance of the Queen of Hell with her daughters and a young Goetic princess brought everything to a halt.

Eyes turned, whispers started, and the crowd parted as Lilith strode confidently down the streets. Her heels clicked against the pavement with an air of authority, her head held high.

“Is that Lilith?”
“And her daughters?”
“Wait- is that Stolas’ kid too?”

Arabelle, ever the confident one, waved at some of the gawking demons, smirking as a few scrambled to bow or look away. Charlie skipped alongside her sister, oblivious to the weight of the stares.

Octavia, on the other hand, clung to Lilith’s side, her eyes darting nervously at the crowd. She gripped Lilith’s hand tightly. “Why… why are they staring?” she whispered.

“They’re just surprised to see us,” Lilith said gently, giving Octavia’s hand a reassuring squeeze. “Ignore them.”

But Octavia couldn’t shake the unease, especially as a towering sinner stepped too close, sneering down at them. “Well, well, if it isn’t the royal family—”

He didn’t get to finish. Lilith’s eyes glowed with a dangerous light, and in a flash, her clawed hand was through his chest. The sinner’s body disintegrated into ash, leaving the onlookers frozen in fear.

Lilith dusted off her gloves casually. “Anyone else?” she asked, her voice calm but laced with warning.

The crowd quickly resumed their business, making a wide berth around the group.

Charlie tugged on her mother’s dress. “Mom, can we get ice cream now?”

Lilith sighed, her fierce expression softening. “Yes, sweetie. Ice cream.”

As they continued their walk, the stares became easier to ignore—except for Octavia, who still flinched whenever someone looked at her for too long. Lilith noticed and bent down slightly to speak to her.

“You’re safe, Octavia. No one will touch you while you’re with me. I promise.”

Octavia nodded but stayed close, her pink eyes wide as she took in the chaotic streets. For the first time, she was seeing Hell beyond her father’s estate, and it was overwhelming.

At the Ice Cream Stand:

They eventually stopped at a brightly lit ice cream stand, the scent of sweet treats cutting through the sulfuric air. Charlie eagerly pressed her face against the glass, pointing at the largest sundae she could see.

“I want that!” she declared.

The vendor, visibly shaking at the sight of Lilith, quickly prepared their orders, fumbling to keep up.

Octavia hesitated when asked what she wanted, mumbling softly to Lilith. “I-I don’t know what’s good…”

“Let’s try chocolate,” Lilith suggested, picking a small cone for her.

As the girls happily devoured their treats, Lilith kept her gaze sharp, scanning the streets for any sign of danger. Arabelle, noticing her mother’s watchful demeanor, smirked.

“Do you ever relax, Mom?”

Lilith arched a brow. “Not when it comes to you girls.”

Octavia stayed quiet, her ice cream untouched as she glanced around nervously. “I miss Dad…” she whispered.

Lilith placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. “You’ll see him soon, sweetheart. Let’s enjoy today for now, alright?”

Despite her anxiety, Octavia managed a small nod, feeling a bit more at ease under Lilith’s protective presence.
