"Amelie! Pakalmahin mo ako o masasampal ko talaga 'yang si Gustav pag nagkaharap kami! Sinasabi ko sa'yo, nakita kong may nakasandal sa balikat niya! Hindi man lang tinanggal. Nakaupo sa may batibot." Bigkas ni Jelena na inis na inis kaya naluluha na siya.
Nasa kalagitnaan na kami ng second sem ngayong freshman year, and things had certainly changed since high school. Dawn had transferred to Shauwn College after initially choosing Psychology, while Jelena and I stayed at Everwood. And Gustav? He was in Mass Communication, while I chose Laboratory Science dahil gusto ko agad makapag-ibang bansa
"Kalma, teh. Kung nilapitan mo sana sila, edi tapos na yang pag-aalala mo, 'di ba?" sabi ko kay Jelena as I tried to calm her down.
"Point is baka masampal ko sila so pinigilan ko sarili ko. Hello? Ako na 'to oh! Tourism, kamay pa lang maganda na." She huffed habang nagre-retouch siya. She knew I'd always be here when she needed to vent.
I couldn't help but laugh at her antics. "Hala! May klase pa ako. Bye, Amelie! Mahal kita." Niyakap niya ako at hinimas pa likod ko bago tumakbo.
I took a moment to apply some red lipstick, the one Dawn had given me last Christmas. The bright color immediately gave life to my face.
Once I stepped out of the comfort room, I grabbed my heavy books and walked toward the parking lot. That's when I saw him. Lienzo stood by his car, holding a bouquet of flowers.
We sat by the seaside at MOA, the cool breeze tossing my hair around as I leaned back into Lienzo's legs. He groaned playfully, giving me a look of mock annoyance. "Hindi ka pa ba nangangalay? Kanina mo pa hawak buhok ko."
I smiled at him, unable to stop myself. "Practice 'to sa kama." He teased, knowing how I'd react.
"I hate you!" I said, hitting him with my small hands.
"Kid, stop it!" Lienzo chuckled as he blocked my playful slaps.
"Kid pa rin talaga ha? 'Di ba pwedeng baby naman?" I pouted.
"Alright, baby. Love you." He pulled me close to him, wrapping an arm around my body, and I felt my heart race. I turned toward him, but he suddenly grabbed my neck gently, forcing me to meet his gaze.
"Cute. Kinikilig ang baby ko na yan." He pinched my cheeks and kissed them. I couldn't help but laugh, even though naka-focus pa rin ako sa papalapit nang lumubog na araw.
"Thank you, Lienzo. I didn't expect to be loved like this. You're getting busier na, and yet, you always make time to send me food and take care of me. Tinatawag kita kapag mahihirapan na ako sa histo or chemistry, and you're there right away, calling your doctor sister to help me too." My voice softened, full of emotion.
"Hala, middle child ka nga pala. May middle child syndrome ka ba?" I teased him.
"I thought you were getting serious, baby. But I'm happy cause even if you're GRUMPY SOMETIMES, you always ask the silliest questions."
"Bastos, in-emphasize yung 'SOMETIMES.' Hehe, I love you, my Lienzo." I giggled.
"Parang nung nakaraan lang, kinikwestiyon ko pa 'yung intentions mo kasi sinabi mong 'friends' lang?! Akala ko nga wala ka ng balak magparamdam. Tapos bigla ka lang palang nag-focus sa finals."
"Suspek, 'di nagpaparamdam pag finals." I smirked.
"Wow. Suspect, ang laki-laki na, umiiyak pa rin kapag 'di makaintindi ng subjects." He raised an eyebrow at me.
