I walked out of the phone and accessory store, GFM beaming with excitement as I clutched my new employee ID badge. I had just landed my first job, and I couldn't wait to start getting pay where I won't have to depend on my parents.
As I strolled through the bustling town , I felt a sense of accomplishment wash over me. I had been in Kingston for a few months now, and it was starting to feel like home. I had met some wonderful people and I'm finally settling down.
Deciding to celebrate my new job by treating myself to lunch at asakura. I enter the building sitting down at a small table by the window, savoring the warm sunlight and the hum of conversation around me.

As I finished my meal and prepared to leave, my phone buzzed with a text message from Damian. "Hey , meet up long time no see ?"
I smiled, feeling a spark of excitement. I have been bored these last days with me not answering zaheer nor his cousin, and I'm always up for taking a break . "Sure, where did you have in mind?" I replied.
Damian suggested meeting at the big tree , and I agreed. I made my way to the big tree in the center , feeling a sense of anticipation building up inside me.
As I arrived at the spot , I spotted Damian waiting for me by the seats . He flashed me a bright smile, and I smile back at him , been a while huh . I just hope he's not one of those guys that always mess ups friendships with feelings I pushed the feeling aside, reminding myself that we were just friends.
"Hey, congrats again on the new job!" Damian exclaimed, as I approached him. "I'm so proud of you!"
I grinned, feeling grateful for Damian's support. "Thanks, Damian! I'm really excited about it."
As we strolled through the mall, laughing and chatting, I felt carefree and happy. But little did I know, our innocent celebration was about to take an unexpected turn.
Just as we stopped in front of a storefront, Damian suddenly leaned in and kissed me on the cheek. My eyes widened in surprise, and I instinctively pushed him away.
"Damian, what are you doing?" I asked, my voice firm but controlled. "I thought we were just friends."
Damian looked taken aback, his face flushing with embarrassment. "I-I'm sorry, Khyra. I guess I just got caught up in the moment."
I sighed, feeling a mix of disappointment and frustration. "Damian, we need to talk about this later. But for now, let's just focus on celebrating my new job, okay?"
Damian nodded, looking chastened. "Yeah, sorry again, Khyra. Congratulations on your new job!"
As we continued shopping, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. I glanced around, noticing a familiar face watching us from across the mall.
Rachel, was standing by the food court, her eyes fixed intently on us. I felt a shiver run down my spine as Rachel snapped a photo of us with her phone making it known to me .

My instincts told me that Rachel was up to something. I quickly turned back to Damian, trying to brush off the uneasy feeling.

After sending the photo the photo to Zaheer, accompanied by a text message I grin .
"Hey Zaheer, I thought you should know. I just saw Khyra and Damian at the mall, and they looked pretty cozy. I'm not sure what's going on between them, but I thought you should be aware."
