Boy you got my heartbeat runnin' away

Beatin' like a drum and it's coming your way

Can't you hear that boom badoom boom

Boom badoom boom bass

He got that super bass

Boom badoom boom

Boom badoom boom bass

He got that super bass

“Uuuuuugh” I groaned and groggily felt around desperately for the snooze button on my alarm radio as “Superbass” by Nicki Minaj rang in my ears. Just a few more minutes wouldn’t hurt…

“Hey! Rise and shine, sleepy head!” Ben yelled as he flung my bathroom door open and threw his soggy towel on my face (thankfully he had his boxers on).

“Ew Ben! Get the hell out! I’m up for christ sake!” I yelled while swatting his nasty towel off my head. I was wide awake now.

He just laughed and shook his curly hair out like a wet dog all over me, and then walked back through the bathroom into his room. So much for ‘a few more minutes’.

I yawned and stretched and walked into the bathroom. It was still steamy and smelled like Axe body wash from Ben’s shower. Mmm, I love that smell!

One of the perks of my morning routine was that I got to take a shower after Ben. He always went for an early morning run, so he’d get back and shower right before I woke up.

Thankfully he doesn’t take long so there’s still enough hot water left for me, and the bathroom smells like wonderful Axe…a nice way to start the morning.

After I showered I took extra long doing my hair and makeup for the day—I mean after all, this is the first day of senior year…it’s special—and I chose a super cute outfit: a flowy white flutter crochet top with denim shorts, a thick woven leather belt, white crochet wedge sandals, a patchwork leather hobo bag, and a flower chain necklace.

Instead of letting my hair just hang loosely like it usually does, I made two braids on each side and tied them back in sort of a ‘half up-half down’ way.

I went downstairs into the kitchen where Ben, my mom, and my dad were at the bar counter eating. I grabbed a piece of toast with jam off Ben’s plate and skipped out the front door.

“Hurry up Ben, I want to be nice and early!” I said as I fished around my bag for my car keys. Dammit! Where were they?!? This is NOT good.

“Yeah, yeah, I know…first day of senior year. I’ve heard it all before” he said walking out and tossed me my car keys.

“How did you—nevermind” I said.

I climbed into the driver’s seat of my beautiful 2010 white Ford F150 while Ben chucked his backpack in the bed of the truck and jumped in the passenger seat.

That car was my second baby…second only behind my closet. I took very good care of it, and even though I got it a whole year ago, it still smells brand new.

I tapped the horn a couple times to try and get Matt’s attention, telling him it was time to go. He got the message, and within a few minutes the front door opened and he stepped out.

He was wearing dark denim jeans and a black t-shirt that hugged his toned body ever so nicely. His hair was a little tousled in a way that says ‘I didn’t even try, and everything about me just screams sexy’ hot damn, this boy was so drool-worthy!
