Vera's pov and just saying, im updating on and between road trips/ vacations BTW the picture is of Vera. Yes, she's being played by Kendall Jenner.

Uriah calls and tells me to rush to the local hospital. He couldn't manage to say anything else since there were broken screams and cries.

"I've gotta go! Hurry!" Echos in my mind as I drive down the street with The Griswolds playing loudly. And now you're f•cking crazy... Crazy, crazy, crazy *drums* WHOA

I park right up close to the entrance and ask for Mar.

"Room 137b. Go straight down the hall and make a left when you see a sign for the restroom. Or just follow the screams. Once you open that door" she says pointing at the double doors next to her desk."

"Got it." I say with an awkward smile and nod. I could hear the girls screaming before I opened the door to enter the hospital, needless to say with the super-hearing. But there has to be at least 25 girls hear. At least 25.

One of the first girls I see is Tris and even though she's in major pain, I can tell that she didn't get enough venom to get to enough veins. Actually I think she only got 2 arteries, maybe 3. But then I hear a distinct yelp in pain.

Marlene.

I rush to her and check her to look for signs that she's transitioning. Her blood and skin is colder and she got a little bit paler, because Mar can only be so pale. Almost no one gets paler but Marlene is really weird. It must also mean that she got a tan a couple weeks ago.

I can smell the venom that's rushing through her veins. It's eating the human blood and making it's way to the control center of the body. Her heart. By now, I can't save her. Her once chocolate eyes are turning hazel. A light, irreversible, hazel.

Tris' pov and yes it's necessary

Within a matter of minutes, the pain leaves my body. It's just a slight sting like when you touch a hot plate for a second. Something that simply lingers there.

A young, short, dark haired nurse comes in with a cute, stereotypical nurse smile while I lay in bed with nothing to do. She better have some good news and not just a fake smile plastered on her face. Nurses fake joy very often and it annoys me every time they don't have a good reason to smile.

"You seem to be perfectly fine now. We don't really know how you healed so quickly but, you're free to go home after you sign this paper." She says.

Wow, so she had a pretty good reason to smile. I start smiling too and sign the paper. I don't want to be in here much longer. The sound of all these women in screaming pain makes me feel bad. I hope they heal soon. Tobias hands me my clothes so I can change out of the hospital's smelly one, since the scent of it just grosses me out. It's like when you see rotten fruit. Repulsive as heck.

I get out of the bathroom and Tobias holds my hand. I take a deep breath and sigh.

"Do you want to check on the other girls?" He asks me. I nod, but I don't know what to expect. So when I see Christina all hell breaks loose in my head. She's tied back to the bed with black straps and her eyes are wild with fear and hunger. She somehow even got skinnier to the point that she is pretty much skin and bones. But in a second, all bony parts fill up to make her look even healthier than ever.

Well, that's interesting.

Author's Note: haven't updated in forever. Don't blame you for not reading this. Most characters belong to Veronica Roth.
