Tris' POV
The gang is on their way. We decided to have everyone over to tell them the good news. I already told my parents over the phone. My mom got really excited and my dad just said he was happy for us. He likes Tobias, don't get me wrong, but Tobias isn't his favorite person. Dad has never liked the idea of me falling in love. He still thinks I'm his little girl.
I hear a knock on the door so I get off the couch and answer it. It's my light skinned bestie
"Hey! Are you feeling okay?" I ask. She was very ill after she got to the hospital. I can't shake the image of her strapped to the hospital bed. It was really disturbing to see her like that.
"Yeah I'm fine. They just said that I was just a tiny bit short on oxygen, but I'm fine now." She says. I throw my arms around her. It's great to know that she's fine.
Soon everyone else arrives and we all sit in the living room. Miao happens to love company and joins us. She jumps onto Tobias' lap.
We hold hands and I ask him,"Should we tell them now?" He nods and I take a deep breath.
"Guys, um, we have some really good news to tell you." They all quiet down a bit and face us. "We're Engaged!" I say.
The girls all come over and hug me. They even cry tears of joy. Especially Christina. She's very emotional. The guys pat Tobias on the back and say," Congrats."
"Wait but where's the ring?!" Asks Marlene. I laugh a little bit at this question.
"He didn't get me–" I start to say. Christina goes over to Tobias and smacks his arm. His arm turns a bright pink color that's quite disturbing. How the hell did she hit him that hard?
"You didn't let me finish, Chris." I say. She mutters an apology to Tobias and fidgets with her hands. "He got me this necklace instead."
"Well well well. Four went out of the box. Smooth, Dude." Uriah says patting him on the back.
"See? I'm not a terrible person, guys. Who doesn't give their fiancé jewelry?" Tobias says with a smirk.
"Actually, my Mom didn't get a ring. My parents kind of just agreed to get married." Shauna says. Christina looks like she's about to slap Shauna's father.
We all just burst into conversation and Marlene pulls a wine bottle out of her purse with a smile. I'm not in the mood to drink though. I want to get pictures of my friends drunk. I've already taken many pictures of Tobias drunk and may I say he's very funny while drunk.
Soon I hear a knock on the door. We weren't expecting anyone else but I guess it's okay if someone is just stopping by. When I open the door there stands a woman with straight, long, dark hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her skin is tan and she is in a casual purple dress. This is none other than my childhood friend, Carmen.
"Oh my gosh! I can't believe you're here! How are you?" I ask and hug her. She hugs me back and gives me kisses on both of my cheeks.
"I'm great! Especially now that I'm in Ms. Prior's presence. Damn it, I missed you so much! I didn't come at a bad time did I?" Carmen says.
"Actually your timing is perfect! Everyone's in the house right now. Well, we aren't really in contact with Daniel anymore but everyone else is in the living room." I answer.
"Oh, good! I brought gifts!" She says and I lead her to the living room.
Author's Note: I'm aware that I haven't updated in a long time. You have permission to internet slap me. I'm sorry about that. But what do you know? Carmen's back! Yayyyyyyyy! I love her character not going to lie. I actually have to go because I'm going to a friend's house right about now so bye! Most characters belong to Veronica Roth.
