I couldn't believe I finally had a free evening to myself. Stepping into the house, I was greeted by the laughter from the living room. Lottie was already inside, her face lighting up when she saw me, and then there was Harry, sitting on the sofa; I didn't expect to see him here, but I felt a rush of happy butterflies instantly.
He looked up, and the purest, most genuine smile spread across his face.
"Lou!" He exclaimed like the happiest kid, throwing his hands up.
I ran straight to him, "Harry!" Matching his energy, I pulled him into a hug so tight it could've fused us together. It had been forever since I'd last seen him, and now holding him in my arms felt like coming home. God, I needed this.
"Excuse me," Lottie's voice cut in, mock-offended. "Why is he getting all the hugs while I, your actual sister, get nothing?"
I pulled back slightly, rolling my eyes playfully, "Alright, alright, you deserve one too," I gave her a warm hug, hoping she'd be satisfied.
As I stepped back, my eyes drifted to the table, "Wait... What's with the cake? Someone's birthday?"
Lottie grinned and clapped her hands together, "Nope! We're celebrating. Harry and I just finished recording his song. It's finally done!"
"Oh, that's brilliant!" I said, genuinely impressed. For once, there was no sarcasm in my voice, just pure curiosity, "I'll have to hear this masterpiece."
"We can play it for you," Harry chimed in, his dimples making an appearance, "But only after we finish eating. I feel like my vocal cords are filled with cake," he laughed.
I looked at the cake. For a moment, my intrusive thoughts imagined grabbing a slice and smushing it into Harry's stupidly pretty face just so I'd have an excuse to lick it off. I was curious if he'd laugh of get super mad. Okay, what the fuck, Louis?
I shook my head and forced myself back to reality, "I'll go change clothes meanwhile," I said after remembering that I was still wearing the same thing as yesterday.
I left before I could embarrass myself by saying something else. After changing, I made a quick detour to the bathroom. But as I opened the door to step out, I got startled.
"Jesus, Harry, you scared me!" I exclaimed, as he stood there, waiting for his turn.
His lips curled into a grin, "I feel some kind of deja vu, don't you?" His eyes shamelessly scanned me up and down, "Only this time, unfortunately, you're wearing clothes."
My jaw dropped. "I knew last time was intentional!"
"It really wasn't," Harry shook his head, genuinely smiling, then put his lips next to my ear, "But I can guarantee the third time will be intentional," he whispered, and with a wink, he slipped into the bathroom, closing the door and leaving me standing there like an idiot. Get a grip, Louis. Lottie was right downstairs, and I was already thinking about making out against the hallway wall.
When I returned to the living room, Lottie was seated at the piano. She smiled as she saw me. "Hey, you wanna talk about how things are going? I feel like I never see you anymore."
I shook my head with a small smile, then laid down on the sofa, "Not really. I'm just happy to finally be home for more than five minutes."
I took my phone out to see a few new DMs from random people, most of them asking about Harry. Others were complimenting my hair or my voice. It was so weird to receive this kind of stuff.
Me: Hurry up, I miss you already.
Harry: Can't even be a second without me? ;D
Harry: I love it <3
