It was a warm day in District 5. All of the mothers woke up their children at sunrise to enjoy as much time with them as possible. The fathers were given the day to bid their goodbyes to their children hoping they weren't the next to be reaped. Also because nobody was to work the day of the reaping since attending the ceremony was mandatory.

In one of the homes in the abandoned Victor's Village resided the Knight Family. The mother, Viviana, who spent most of her free time with hands buried deep into soil. She had a love for gardening and her son made sure she could have her own garden filled with red roses right in front of their home.

Then there was the son, Alexander, the victor of the 68th Annual Hunger Games. He had a passion for music, it's what was keeping him sane after his experience in the game. He would spend most of his time at home with his mother and sister. He never enjoyed staying at his apartment in The Capitol, he simply kept it because it was President Snow's command.

Lastly, there was the daughter, Scarlett, the young girl that had just celebrated her 18th birthday with those that she love. The girl that brought all of the joy into the Knight Residence. Her personality was bubbly and contagious. If she looked at you with her bright smile you were guaranteed to smile as well. Yet there was a dark side to her that only her mother and brother knew. A side that remained dorment because if it came awake... The world would burn.

The sound of a door opening and closing dragged Scarlett out of her daze. She hadn't noticed that she had been daydreaming for about half an hour. Her cereal had managed to soak up all the milk in the dark bowl in front of her.

"You're not ready yet?" Alexander questioned his younger sister who was getting up from the table she had been sitting in for about half an hour.

"I... I was just thinking." Scarlett said with a small sigh as she took the bowl in hand.

"Wanna talk to me?" Alexander questioned as he followed his sister into the kitchen where she placed her bowl in the sink.

"I was just thinking... This whole time I was confident that I could be safe but... But what if my name is called Alex?" Scarlett said as she leaned against the counter behind her.

Alexander inhaled deeply and exhaled as he didn't know what to say. He didn't want his sister to be reaped because he knew the torture the games put someone through. He also knew that if her name was called out there was a possibility that she wouldn't return to them.

"Your name won't be called." Alexander assured his sister getting her to shake her head.

"But what if it is?" Scarlett quickly retorted getting her brother to walk closer to her and place his hands on her shoulders.

"It won't." Alexander assured her as the young girl inhaled sharply as she and her brother looked eye to eye with each other.

"Scar I've laid out your clothes for you sweetie. Let's get you ready, yes?" The sound of her mother's voice got them to turn to the doorway where she stood.

Viviana knew better than anybody the nerves during each reaping. She as a child lived it from the age of 12 to 18. Even though she was never reaped into the games they still managed to leave a mark. Her twin brother was reaped into the 50th Hunger Games. She had to watch her mother be torn from the loss of her brother. Then 18 years later she saw her son get reaped for the 68th Hunger Games.
